Life can bring about many obstacles - whether stressors or a medical condition - and a therapist can facilitate change or healing. I specialize in providing psychotherapy to individuals experiencing adjustment issues to a medical condition or stressor, anxiety, depression, trauma, or a spiritual crisis. If you have cognitive difficulties, I provide cognitive rehabilitation and executive skills coaching to strengthen your mental abilities to engage in home and work. At times, neurological injury brings behavioral changes. We can jointly develop a behavioral plan to manage behaviors to improve relationships and ensure safety.

As a result, I do not participate in insurance but provide patients with a monthly bill that can be submitted to their providers for reimbursement for out of network services.
My practice is based on an integrative model that privileges contemporary relational theory and practice. I work with a range of issues with individual adults, couples and families, and have a particular interest in working with artists, writers, and intellectuals. When choosing a psychotherapist, it is important to find a good fit - someone you feel comfortable with. Psychotherapy is at best a healing and transformational journey that allows you to have healthier and more satisfying relationships with yourself and others. A good relationship with your therapist is the most important factor in a successful outcome.

As the global pandemic has shown us, sometimes life becomes overwhelming and uncontrollable. During these times it may be best to talk with someone outside of your community of family, friends or co-workers. A warm hearted professional to lend a moment of support and guidance. I share with clients in deciding how best to approach the issues, with the intent of addressing both the current distressing symptoms and long-standing patterns of behavior that are getting in the way of a thriving life. My practice is telehealth-based, and I accept direct pay (some prefer for privacy) as well as most PPO plans as an Out of Network provider.

Many of my clients have led very successful lives, either in school, at work, or at home. They are highly resilient, resourceful, hard working, and strong, which is why they can't explain the anxiety or depression that keeps bubbling up. They are hesitant to seek therapy because they don't want to tinker with what is working, yet they are feeling emotions that sometimes don't make sense or are hard to manage. They feel isolated because they believe they can't share these vulnerabilities with anyone else, either because they are ashamed of feeling them or because they may not be able to trust others with that information.

I believe that change can happen when you least expect it, and therapy is a wonderful way to look at what is holding you back and understand yourself. I bring an empathic, caring persona to the therapeutic process and believe that the relationship developed in therapy is a powerful tool for insight and growth. I have witnessed many patients develop an increased capacity for self-reflection and apply skills learned in therapy to creating a more fulfilled life. My 15 years of experience in the social services field greatly informs my work.

I am an out of network provider, which may be eligible for reimbursement from PPO insurance plans.
I offer a compassionate and accepting space for my clients to explore the stress and struggles that keep them from becoming who they want to be. My clients often tell me my ability to make sessions fun as well as a deep emotional experience has made them really enjoy the therapeutic process. I utilize Mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) techniques to support progress. I work with adolescents and young adults. Through my previous work in a school environment, I understand the benefits of working collaboratively with faculty and parents in addition to the client themselves.

I am interested in your unique life journey, your struggles and your deepest longings. Therapy helps transform limiting patterns that keep us stuck and unable to experience life in a more fulfilling and nourishing way. With a compassionate and collaborative presence, I support others in reconnecting with themselves, deepening relationships, and feeling aligned with their true nature. Uncovering obstacles and connecting with inner guidance helps alleviate suffering and makes room for new possibilities and enlivening choices to emerge.

My therapeutic approach centers on utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT was initially developed to treat borderline personality disorder but is now used to effectively treat a broad spectrum of psychological problems by focusing on enhancing the skills necessary to not only cope but thrive in a world full of obstacles.

You already possess the inner resources and capacity needed to heal. At certain times, however, we all need help gaining access to that nurturing capacity: a kind of 'Assisted Self Discovery.' When our minds, bodies, & emotions are all supported together in a safe process of present-oriented exploration, the potential for change is remarkable. I utilize an eclectic approach. Each session is tailored to your unique needs & personal goals. Long-lasting symptom relief/decreased suffering & achieving a more fulfilling life are priorities that guide my work with clients.

It may very well be that our deepest longing and need is for connection. To be heard and understood. To be known in places where many others are never allowed. To be more connected to the lost neglected parts of ourselves and those we care about. You have this opportunity in the safety of psychotherapy. It isn't always an easy road. Perhaps this sounds intimidating. Often it entails letting go of destructive habits or getting unstuck. We may need to look at old patterns and create new ones. There may be moments of laughing, crying, or facing hard truths.

Are you living in a sexless relationship? Or perhaps the sex you're having is unsatisfying, or hampered by something specific. My office provides you with a safe, comfortable space to discuss your sexual life, answer your questions, all within the framework of a sex-positive atmosphere. I don't believe in pathologizing someone's sexual behaviors. As an AASECT-certified sex therapist, my philosophy is simple: if it's consensual, and it's not hurting you or your partner(s), your sexuality and all that it entails (your fantasies, experimentation, whatever turns you on) will be supported, nurtured, and listened to without judgment.

Out of Network Therapists
An out-of-network Therapist in Los Angeles has not agreed to any set rate with your insurer. Your plan may require higher co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance for out-of-network care and you may need to pay the difference between your insurer's allowed amount and what the Therapist charges.

The costs for a Los Angeles out-of-network Therapist also depend on your type of plan:

In a Health Maintenance Organization, or HMO, or Exclusive Provider Network, or EPO, you generally have to pay the full cost of any out-of-network care.

In a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) or Point-of-Service (POS) plan, you will usually have to pay a higher deductible and or a higher co-pay plus a higher percentage co-insurance plus, the difference between the allowed amount and your provider's actual rate.
