How might you show yourself compassion today? Where can you exercise more curiosity, in place of judgement? Imagine speaking to yourself with the same gentle grace and care you would typically give to a friend, loved one or child. Many of us struggle to be kind and patient with ourselves, especially if we have endured or been witness to traumatic experiences. I believe that we are all capable of change and healing, if we lead with compassion. In our work together, we will focus on nurturing your relationships, starting with the self, unlocking your innate ability to heal, feel, grow, connect, redefine and transcend beyond your pain.

Modern life is challenging for a variety of reasons. I believe we’re all doing the best we can, but sometimes we don’t know why life isn’t going as well as we'd like. Whether you’re struggling with relationships, loneliness, career ambitions, or fulfillment, therapy provides a safe environment to better understand what’s troubling you. The therapeutic space is sacred to me because vulnerability requires trust and leads to healing. Sometimes, we need permission to feel. Other times, we need to uncover our authentic selves. No matter the personal challenge, I will provide you with curiosity and acceptance.

What if therapy became a space for curiosity and transformation, not just a place to unload? You want to feel more creative, connected, and social, yet free time slips into doomscrolling, spiraling thoughts, avoidance, and procrastination. The more you withdraw, the more disconnected you feel. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, relationships, or existential concerns, we’ll build tools to help you reconnect and thrive on your own terms. I offer an affirming, inclusive, and culturally responsive space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and people of all backgrounds.

Sarah is an LMFT with 13+ years of experience in the field. She is a warm, curious and determined clinician who combines her care for people with her love of puzzles to create a supportive atmosphere of self-exploration and problem-solving. Sarah has a particular passion for supporting healthcare workers who often put themselves last and experience secondary trauma, burn-out and compassion fatigue. Fellow therapists are especially welcome! She has focused experience with niche populations including severe mental illness, military veterans, incarcerated men and women, youth in foster care, and partners of public figures.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working with teens, adults, parent support, and the elderly. I have lived both in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles and understand the insistence to perform. I work from a culturally sensitive lens, tailored to each individual client applying evidence based practices (e.g. CBT and DBT) and exploratory techniques (e.g. Art Therapy) to challenge and create coping skills. If you seek autonomy in your life, confidence in your decision making, the validity of your emotional experience, and the confidence and bravery to understand yourself, we will be a great fit.

You’ve been checking all the boxes, doing what’s expected, maybe even excelling. But deep down, you’re craving something more: to live with intention, to make meaning of your experiences, and to feel deeply connected to who you truly are. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you. It’s about helping you connect with your authentic self, beyond the roles you fill or your achievements. Here, you don’t have to perform. You don’t have to people-please. You just have to show up.

If past therapy attempts haven’t moved the needle, you found the right next stop. I’ve been doing this for 34 years, and therapists half my age still don't match my energy. I specialize in the world of work and how it wrecks your inner world. Anxiety, anger, conflict, and low confidence don’t stay at the office — they follow you like a stalker. I help people who are stuck — in their heads, in their jobs, in their relationships — get unstuck. I turn the tables on difficult people, eat abusive bosses for breakfast, and go toe-to-toe with the limiting thoughts that keep you playing small. Also, this is how I talk.

Sometimes our problems threaten to gain the upper hand, and we find it difficult to step into the life we want to live. I work with adults, couples, youth, and families in a deeply supportive and engaged environment to assist in a thorough exploration of the challenges they might be contending with. My work promotes the understanding that the person is not the problem, the problem is the problem. I believe that everyone is inherently resourceful, and am committed to working with people to help them alleviate the oppressive effects of problems, whether they are new challenges or ongoing issues.

I believe healing happens in connection—both with others and within ourselves. In our work together, the relationship we build will be central, offering a space where you feel seen, safe, and supported as you explore what matters most to you. My style is warm, collaborative, and intuitive. I take an integrative approach rooted in somatic psychotherapy, attachment theory, and a strengths-based lens. Together, we’ll explore how past experiences and early relationships might be shaping your present, while also building practical tools to help you create a life that reflects your unique identity, strengths, values, and goals.

Do you feel overwhelmed, scattered, or stuck in cycles of anxiety and procrastination? Losing track of time, underestimating tasks, struggling to quiet your mind — and not knowing why? These patterns may be linked to ADHD. Many adults reach adulthood without ever learning that what they're experiencing has a name. ADHD in adults often looks different than the textbook version — and it frequently goes undetected for decades. The adults I work with are often highly capable people who've built impressive lives — but carry a quiet exhaustion from working twice as hard just to keep up. They mask well in public, struggle privately.

For BIPOC people and LGBTQIA+ folks, finding a space to be their authentic and unique selves feels impossible. Those of us who have been "othered" live in a world full of oppression as well as hurt, pain and trauma. This oppression leads to depression, anxiety, image issues, substance abuse, risky behaviors and self harm. My role as a therapist is to create that safe environment to work through the trauma, re-write the narrative and empower people to be their best versions of themselves that fosters love, acceptance, and healing.

Our past experiences can shape how we feel and act in the present. What was once an adaptive strategy to survive can now leave you stuck and miserable. You might feel like, even though you know better you continue to engage in the same patterns. I can help you develop insight into how your past shapes your present, and I can help you interrupt destructive patterns to feel more at ease, authentic, and agentic. In addition to helping folks understand the origins of their suffering, I also help people build the capacity to turn toward struggles with compassion. I believe that as we tend to our wounds, profound healing can occur.

Relational and flexible therapy for people whose bodies and brains have been misunderstood, dismissed, or disbelieved. When you go to bed at night, you wonder how you are going to feel the next morning. Will you wake up and immediately start bargaining with your body? Will you intend to start your morning routine and somehow end up doing everything except that? You wake up and still try. You push through, put on your mask, and hold it together…even when your brain won't load or you've already spent everything you had just getting out of bed. The shame creeps in before the day has even started. Why is this so hard?

Do you feel burdened by anxiety, depression, trauma, or the weight of feeling "othered"? These experiences often leave people feeling disconnected and isolated, navigating a world that marginalizes and misunderstands. I collaborate with clients to uncover and harness their inner strengths and wisdom, creating a compassionate, culturally affirming space where healing and growth thrive. My work primarily focuses on queer/gay men, queer/lesbian women, gender non-conforming individuals, and relationships across the spectrum of definitions. But I also work with clients from diverse backgrounds who seek meaningful change and healing.

You struggle with setting boundaries and naming what you actually want. Deep down, you know there’s more potential to access in your relationships, your self-worth, your work. But you never quite feel grounded or fully seen. There are parts of you you haven’t even met yet. Maybe you’re in spiritual, kinky, or BIPOC spaces where you feel both seen and unseen. You’re tired of making yourself small to fit. You want boundaries that feel empowering and not guilt-ridden. You want connection without self-abandonment. You’re ready to get out of your own way.
