I mosty work with individuals dealing with anxiety, OCD , insomnia, adult ADHD, persistent depression, life transitions, anger management, and men’s issues, I utilize CBT, along with ACT, DBT, and mindfulness-based approaches.
Selecting a new therapist can be a little intimidating. This may be your first time seeking a therapist or you may have some experience with therapy. My commitment is to make the process of beginning therapy as smooth as possible. One of the most important aspects of being a human being is the ability to empathize with someone else. Therapy ought to be a time and space in which we can share our experience and sense that we are actually heard, seen, understood, and affirmed.

I’m here to help you stand up to OCD ! After a diagnostic appointment, we will use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy to challenge your intrusive thoughts.
Intrusive thoughts are the worst! They get in the way of time with your friends and family. They threaten your goals. They crowd your mind and tank your self-esteem. You've been trying to get better from regular therapy, but it’s not working. I know that you are tired of wondering “what if” about every little thing. You just want all this to stop so you can get on with your life.

I specialize in anxiety and depression, OCD , trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem, self-actualization, and interpersonal relationships.
I believe effective psychotherapy fosters one part of the path towards wholeness. Past hurts, the voice of the inner critic, emotional dysregulation, and traumatic experiences can fragment the self, and break away our inner strengths and resources. I aim to help relocate those strengths and inner resiliencies by facilitating exploration and implementing appropriate best-practice tools. Together, we can navigate the psychological barriers and free up the inner entanglement. "Wholeness is not so much perfection as completeness." -C.G. Jung.

If you or your child suffer from OCD or other anxiety disorders, you're not alone. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness, yet most sufferers don't receive proper, evidence-based treatment. OCD /anxiety can cause problems socially, academically, professionally, and create chaos with family members. The good news is that there is help. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has repeatedly shown to be the most effective approach for defeating OCD and anxiety. CBT creates new neuro-pathways by changing the way you think and behave. It's basically exercise for the brain. The more you flex those brain muscles, the stronger you become.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

OCD is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
