Are you finding yourself repeatedly pulled into relationships that feel unclear, one-sided, or emotionally draining? You may be dealing with partners who shut down during conflict, avoid accountability, or keep things ambiguous—leaving you overthinking, waiting, or carrying more of the emotional load. Many gay men I work with are navigating open or non-traditional relationship structures and want practical tools to set clearer boundaries, disengage from unhealthy dynamics, and build relationships that feel more stable, reciprocal, and self-respecting.

I also integrate many years of experience in mindfulness practices, my passion for cognitive neuroscience as well as Narrative and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
A simple yet profound piece of wisdom I have learned is that we can't truly heal alone. It is a great honor for me to walk alongside those who feel they have lost their connection to joy only to discover, that with the right kind of support, the vibrant and resilient person inside was never really gone. The support I will provide for you integrates a multi-faceted approach to therapy. You will learn why our brains function the way they do and gain a deep understanding of our nervous system. We will gently explore your past and in the process uncover fundamental information about how it affects who you are today.

Some people come into therapy with big ambitions. Others feel unsure about what they want or where to start. Either way, we begin by setting realistic, achievable steps.
My role is to help provide structure when things feel chaotic, or help you develop flexibility when perfectionism keeps you stuck.

The process of healing in therapy is a journey - one that opens doors to see ourselves differently and accept ourselves more fully. It allows for there to be space to sit with our innermost thoughts and feelings as we bear witness to the courageous process towards renewal and growth. Through a safe, genuine, and empathetic therapeutic experience, my goal as a psychotherapist is to provide an opportunity for my clients to express their pain and hardships as we explore ways to move towards fulfillment, wellness, and achieving their goals in life.

I recognized that seeking therapy can have stigmas attached to it among some marginalized and minority communities that might feel unheard or misunderstood by therapists who might not fully understand their values, experiences, or background. I'm committed to breaking through these stigmas and barriers coming from these communities myself as a Muslim and child of immigrants. I aim to bridge the gap I see in representation in the mental health field among these communities.

As a trauma specialist, I use a combination of EMDR, somatic techniques, mindfulness, and attachment repair.
You have insight, but it's not enough. You’re capable in so many ways, yet the weight of self-criticism, the constant buzz of anxiety, and feelings of shame and dread hold you back. Part of you craves change, but another part fears it. You may be confronting painful memories or worrying about the future, overwhelmed by "what ifs." Maybe you're struggling with relationships—untrusting, reactive, or unable to express your needs. Perhaps you’re grieving the loss of a loved one, a pet, or an opportunity. Whatever your struggles, there's a faint glimmer of hope. The quiet belief that you're not alone. There's help for you.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.
When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.
What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.
Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
