I am passionate about helping people on the LGBTQ+ continuum achieve a wholeness and personhood not mirrored by a cis/heteronormative society.
I believe therapy is meant to be experimental, experiential, and collaborative. Carl Jung said, "The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed." Insights in therapy have the potential to be challenging and painful, and my job is to help you through them. A spirit of non-judgment, empathy, directness, and sense of humor defines my style. My goal is to assist clients in connecting to their authentic Selves, for the purpose of overcoming negative thinking, self-destructive patterns, and unfulfilling relationships.

As an openly gay bi-cultural man, I’ve spent the better part of my adult life unlearning the harmful messages our world tells us about what it means to be different - that we are somehow broken or unworthy. I am here to tell you they are wrong. You are fabulous, vibrant, and deserving of all the gifts this world has to offer. I became a therapist to share what I’ve learned and to bring healing not just to queer folks, but to anyone who knows what it feels like to be left out. When we work together, you can expect a safe, affirming, and sometimes silly space where we collaborate to find real solutions you can implement right away.

My areas of focus include: the LGBTQ+ community, anxiety, ADHD, self-esteem, complex trauma, relationships, and people pleasing.
I believe everyone is capable of living their fullest, most vibrant life and it is my passion to help them achieve it. I help clients foster insight by processing their past experiences and gently uncovering the ways their pasts connect with their current struggles. I teach clients to discover the patterns and rules that keep them stuck and then support them in cultivating a life that brings them joy and fulfillment. I invite my clients on a journey of self-compassion and teach them how to prioritize gentleness and self-care. I believe therapy can be silly and even fun while still being impactful and effective.

As a sex-positive, anti-racist, LGBTQ therapist, I’ll help you to stop outsourcing your self-worth, and to tune into your inner voice and your body’s messages.
You’ve been told a lot about who you should be, how your life should look, or whom you should date or love. You feel like you can’t hear your own desires over the noise of other people's opinions or suggestions. You can’t find that inner sense that guides you past the anxiety that is constantly weighing you down. You can see the relationship, job, or sense of confidence in your mind, but feel lost and overwhelmed. You dream of feeling empowered and confident, knowing what you want and how to get it. You have a brilliant light–let’s help you shine!

I identify as a gay, cisgender man and enjoy working with the chronic pain and queer communities.
I do this work because I genuinely love it. I am very honest and direct with clients and encourage openness from each of us. Therapy is an opportunity to slow down, get reacquainted with ourselves, and engage in vulnerability and playfulness that is too often not accessed. I offer a supportive, completely non-judgmental space where everything and anything is on the table (trust me, as therapists, we have heard it all). Trust and comfortability take time, and I respect clients’ pace and readiness to travel in difficult directions. I also promise to (compassionately) hold you accountable to promote growth and healing.

I specialize in affirming care for the LGBTQ community, grief and loss, anxiety and panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), major life transitions and supporting survivors of trauma.
I see many clients who feel stuck and unable to alter their life in a way that reflects their values, causing them to feel sad, on edge, or numb. They are suffering a great deal, and often their needs seem unclear. I use a frank and kind style to empower clients to find meaning and hope as they navigate the complicated, often oppressive systems of our world. This process is one of uncovering patterns—which may feel difficult to articulate at the beginning—restricting clients from fully experiencing life. Once their needs and goals become clear, I help them build and sustain a more flexible and expansive way of living and connecting.

For BIPOC people and LGBTQIA+ folks, finding a space to be their authentic and unique selves feels impossible. Those of us who have been "othered" live in a world full of oppression as well as hurt, pain and trauma. This oppression leads to depression, anxiety, image issues, substance abuse, risky behaviors and self harm. My role as a therapist is to create that safe environment to work through the trauma, re-write the narrative and empower people to be their best versions of themselves that fosters love, acceptance, and healing.

Hi, my name is Hehn (they/them), and I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker at Dr. McCurdy-McKinnon & Associates: Eating Disorders & Wellness Clinic. I draw on my own experiences as a non-binary person living in this world to support, validate, and understand the issues that other trans and non-binary folx are facing. I join with motivated and engaged individuals to help them better understand how their past influences their present, and how dysphoria and other experiences present in relationship to body and self. Together, we will work towards finding the answers and solutions that exist on the other side of life struggles.

I specialize in LGBT affirmative therapy, which helps me to better understand difference, the need for acceptance, and oppression.
Welcome to a space where the intersections of race, sexuality, class and other identities are understood, respected, and celebrated. Striving to be the most authentic version of yourself isn't always the easiest. Maintaining your peace, living unapologetically, setting boundaries, processing your emotions, owning your truths and overcoming one obstacle after another can all sound like easy tasks, but we’ve all struggled with them. I’m here to invite you onto a transformative journey of discovering and recognizing your capability to create the life you know that you deserve. The time for radical change and healing is always now.

I work with clients of all backgrounds with a particular specialty serving the LGBTQ+ community.
I love those moments when a client has an “Aha Moment,” saying with raised awareness, “I’ve never thought about it that way before.” Perhaps this moment is in regard to helping heal an emotional wound or recognizing how to overcome a seemingly insurmountable barrier standing in the way of one’s goals. Sometimes clarifying what those goals are, discovering a path toward achieving them, then taking small/realistic steps to do so is what the therapeutic work is about. Healing emotional wounds and uncovering or remembering your strengths will help you clarify and possibly even reach your goals.

I specialize in LGBTQ-affirming and multicultural therapy for underrepresented groups; we explore deeper life experiences about identity, belonging, gender, sexuality, race, and culture.
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or existential challenges stemming from trauma, loneliness, disconnection, life transitions, or urban stress? In my therapy practice, you'll find a supportive, non-judgmental space where we work together to discover ingrained patterns of behavior, thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Through our exploration, you'll deepen self-awareness, gain clarity, and uncover the roots of your struggles. Over time, people in therapy with me discover a renewed sense of purpose and connection, equipped to make conscious choices and live authentically for increased wholeness and creativity.

As a therapist specializing in helping the LGBT+ community navigate midlife transitions, I explore the possibility of psychedelic therapy to foster deep insights and transformative growth. Psychotherapy is about transformation, but that takes commitment and courage. Having someone you trust to guide you through such a process can make all the difference. A genuine and supportive therapeutic relationship can help you take an honest look at your feelings, your thoughts about yourself, and your relationships with others, removing the barriers to a healthy and fulfilled life. With curiosity, we can address these obstacles together.

I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+/queer community and also tend to work with individuals and partners of all ages and gender identities dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship concerns, grief, perfectionism, life transitions, and body image issues.
Welcome! My task as your therapist is to first provide a space where you’ll feel free to talk openly and be your truest self. Then, together, we will get to the bottom of whatever it is that may be contributing to the way you're feeling, and collaborate on ways you can begin to feel more at ease, empowered, and in alignment with your personal values, goals, and unique identity. I believe that we all hold the ability to manage life's challenges. To do this, we sometimes need a supportive guide. Enter therapy.

As a therapist, I've worked with clients dealing with trauma coming from sources like mistreatment, neglect, or abuse, often from early life experiences. My space is also open for those who've faced religious adversities that have placed them in places of isolation and pain. I also have a background of working, both as a therapist, and as an advocate, with the LGBTQIA+ community. Additionally, I've worked with clients dealing with grief, depression, social anxiety and self-esteem issues. If you feel hopeless or hurt, maybe there's some digging to do, I offer a safe space for you to do so.

Expansive Therapy is a 100% LGBTQ+ owned and focused therapy practice. We wanted to go beyond checking a box for queer affirming therapy to creating a practice that was committed to the community, where queer people could bring their whole selves into therapy. Queer theory asks that we look at the world in a new way, not through a heteronormative lens, but from each individual perspective which is unique and perfect. We are passionate about understanding the unique challenges of our community and helping our queer clients to heal.
