EMDR Therapists in Los Angeles, CA
I'm trained in EMDR, somatic therapy, and parts-based and psychodynamic approaches.
You are enough.
You’ve spent years trying to be perfect or keep everyone happy. It feels like nothing you do is enough. Early experiences taught you love or safety had to be earned by always doing things right.
Over time, the inner critic grows louder, making it hard to rest, connect with others, or feel joy. You might feel drained, shut down, or wonder why it’s so hard to just be.
In therapy, we’ll slow down and listen with compassion to the parts of you shaped by pain and survival. Together, we’ll rewrite old stories, help you find your voice, and identify your needs with trust, curiosity, and care.

Are you looking for a safe space to share your feelings; to better understand your emotional self? If you are experiencing relationship problems, feel stuck or blocked, anxious or depressed, we can work together to understand these issues. Sometimes we know that things don't feel right, but can't put our finger on it. Through guided exploration, we can discover underlying causes for these feelings, and develop a more authentic connection with ourselves and with others. I work with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents.

I pull from tools like EFT, to help couples stop that same old argument, EMDR and Somatic work, to help your body finally let go of past stress, and Gottman Method for practical relationship skills.
Many of my clients come in feeling anxious, stuck, or just not like themselves. Maybe your mind won’t slow down, your mood feels heavy, or your relationships keep falling into the same patterns. Often, there’s something deeper underneath it, experiences that haven’t had the space to be fully processed or understood. I support clients with navigating overwhelming stress, anxiety, low mood, and relationship struggles often rooted in difficult or unresolved past experiences. My focus is on creating a insight into the patterns so you can see change in your life outside the therapy room.

Are you feeling stuck in old patterns that you know aren’t working for you? Perhaps you find that the way you’ve been showing up in your workplace, with your family, or with your friends hasn’t been effective or rewarding. A nagging insecurity keeps you from taking risks and being vulnerable with those you love. Or a need for control paralyzes your openness to growth and change. You may not even be fully aware of what's keeping you stuck - you just know that something is. We all have blind spots that get in our own way - beliefs we have about ourselves, others, and the world that become self-fulfilling prophesies for our lives.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
