Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, body image struggles, obsessive thoughts, or the lingering impact of trauma? These experiences can feel isolating, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. In our work together, we’ll gently uncover what’s beneath the surface, giving space to long-held emotions and creating a path toward healing. My goal is to help you process unresolved trauma and reconnect with a more grounded, integrated sense of self so that you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

Hi there, I'm Holland! Starting therapy can be scary and overwhelming. It takes courage to take the step of not only admitting that you want help but also seeking out support. I congratulate you on your courage and will support you in a safe environment. Some sessions may be more challenging than others, but you will always receive support and understanding. I take a collaborative approach with clients, including them in each step of treatment development and management. We will develop rapport and identify which modalities would work best or combine parts of modalities that will work best for you.

I treat codependency...a fancy word for over-focusing on others and under-focusing on you. Letting others determine your self-esteem is a dangerous thing to do. But when you're harmed as a kid, you learn that you don't matter. You come away from childhood with broken "antennae". You don't see unhealthy traits in others. Too much pain teaches you to ignore your feelings and live in your head. It's a trick that gets you through childhood, but it sabotages adult relationships. My passion is helping you use your voice to get what you want.

You’re smart, self-aware—and still stuck. The same arguments, the same anxiety, the same emotional shutdowns keep showing up. I work with individuals and couples who are tired of repeating the same painful patterns, and are ready to actually shift the way they live. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, relationship issues, addiction, or trauma, I bring 10+ years of experience and use evidence-based therapy like CBT, Motivational Interviewing and the Gottman Couple's Method. Therapy with me is direct, honest, and grounded in real tools that work. I offer both in-person sessions in Marina Del Rey and virtual sessions.

I currently work with adults, couples, and families. I see therapy as one approach for an intentional practice of self and relational awareness. If you are feeling limited by your own beliefs, expectations or blurry boundaries with others, and/or constructs and constraints imposed by our systems, I want to help empower you to be curious about your potential and purpose in your own life and in the world around you. I like metaphors, so I'll use one now. I see therapy as a bass line, something that maintains a consistent and reliable beat in the background while you improvise, play, and experiment in the foreground.

While compassion is the cornerstone of my practice, I will also challenge you in more direct ways. Through the process of psychotherapy we come to know ourselves more deeply. This self-insight can lead to comfort, purpose, and more settled, enriching relationships. I work collaboratively with patients to help them come to determine what they want and need, in treatment and in their lives.

I am an AuDHD, queer, nonbinary, and white multicultural therapist offering affirming online therapy throughout California. My practice is rooted in both personal and clinical experience, focusing on neurodivergence, trauma, trans and nonbinary experiences, non-monogamous and mixed-neurotype relationships, and navigating burnout in all areas of life under capitalism. I know how isolating it can feel when you’re misunderstood, especially when living with trauma or marginalized identities. Healing isn’t just about what happens in therapy; it’s also about finding connection and belonging in the world outside of it.

You've worked so hard to manage the effects of trauma, but sometimes life still feels overwhelming. Maybe when things go wrong you believe it’s always your fault and so you choose to keep your life small. Maybe it’s just too hard to experience any peace or joy because you’re always protecting yourself emotionally from what might go wrong. Maybe it's too difficult to authentically connect to others. Together we’ll go deeper than traditional talk therapy to tap into the wisdom of your body, the various parts of your experience, the expansiveness of your mind, and the science of neurobiology.

My name is Maya Cheek, LCSW. I practice trauma and emotionally focused therapy to help you access healing and support you in bringing your deep inner self into alignment with your truth. I feel that it is important to look at how racial, gender & sexual identity interact with systems of oppression within the experience of trauma. Understanding your response to life experiences is an important journey that requires trust, safety, patience, and the willingness to explore parts of ourselves that have been wounded and are asking for healing.
