Do you have trouble with anxiety, depression, and relationship/family issues due to trauma? Past experiences can create imprints onto your brain that activate your fight/flight responses whenever your emotions feel dysregulated, but life without the constant feeling of being on edge is possible. Those traumatic memories don’t have to permanently influence who you are meant to be. Through therapy, you will gain control of your feelings/thoughts and your response to everyday life hurdles. Healing from trauma can create healthier beliefs about yourself and your relationships along with sustainable changes.

I want you to know what I already do -- you are enough. There is nothing broken about you. And looking for help (which you’re doing right now!) is evidence of your resilience. I believe that all people are inherently resourceful. So, the work that we’ll be doing together is (re)connecting you to your own inner resources, strengths, and values. We’ll co-create a space where you can explore your tender spots and deepest desires.

Life is filled with inevitable change—some of which is more manageable than others. For children and teens, the rapid shifts in their minds, bodies, emotions, and relationships can feel overwhelming. This can often shows up as withdrawal, defiance, emotional outbursts, or school struggles. Many youth are also wrestling with their sense of self—figuring out who they are, how they fit in, and how to manage their inner world. Without the right support, these challenges can disrupt their daily functioning, knock their self-confidence and lead to patterns that feel confusing or out of control.

I have a special passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals, including autistic clients, those with ADHD, and people with learning or sensory differences, fostering strengths-based environments where they can thrive.
I also work alongside people in all stages of addiction and recovery, with or without co-occurring mental health concerns. I believe recovery is not just about letting go of what no longer serves you—it’s about creating a life worth living—and I meet each person with compassion, patience, and deep respect for the courage it takes to heal.

My approach is grounded in cultural humility, attachment-based and trauma-informed lens.
You always look for ways you can grow, in order to evolve into a better human and achieve your goals. But lately, you are having a difficult time being present, enjoying life and living into who you truly want to be. You have always worked hard to be the reliable one in your relationships; a part of your identity you no longer connect with. You feel overwhelmed by your own expectations and standards and this only feeds your sense of shame. You are unable to ask for help, even as you are drowning from feeling burnt out, because your past experiences told you that you cannot trust or rely on others and you are afraid to be let down.

People refer to therapy as a science or practice-but I have come to view it as an art in the most exquisite form. Therapy is about expressing and emoting, and finding value in the internal and external relationships we create. My education and clinical experience has verified the depth of this "art," revealing knowledge that can be gained, healing of old scars, and magic that can ensue when self-love occurs. I am a firm believer that therapy is not a requirement for healthy living, but similar to music and film, it can add intrigue, deepen relationships, and significantly enhance the quality of life.

Selecting the "right" therapist can be a challenging process. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist begins with the establishment of trust and a desire to grow. I value authenticity, empathy, humor, respect for self and other, and put these values to work in session. My areas of specialty include issues surrounding sexuality and gender, sexual dysfunction, childhood, religious & sexual trauma, the LGBTQIA+ population and those seeking purpose or deeper meaning in life. I aim to meet my clients where they are, holding space for exploration of self, empowerment for growth, and reclamation of their joy for life.

Our mental health is usually not where it should be on our long list of priorities in our busy lives. Feelings of depression, anxiety, and/or fear can manifest themselves in the mind body and soul without warning, making life difficult to navigate. Sometimes our lives “program” us to respond/react to certain situations in a way that’s no longer helpful. These feelings don’t only impact us but also seep into our relationships and things start feeling out of control. You don’t have to feel this way!

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.
What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.
How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.
Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
