When working with individuals I use the powerful, evidence-based approach of AEDP ( Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy).
My approach is holistic, incorporating mind, body and soul. As a therapist, I'm totally committed to your growth. I don't simply sit back and listen. Rather, I'm on the journey with you, as a companion, witness and guide, holding a safe container in which your healing can unfold. I see therapy as a lively creative process that accesses the wisdom of your body and the power of your imagination to put you back in the driving seat of your life.

My approach is integrative and holistic, blending Depth/Jungian Psychology with additional trainings such as EMDR, AEDP, RLT (2 years couples intensive), somatic work, trauma work and mindfulness practices.
The suffering we experience can become a gift if we work through it. I'm here to help you uncover what is getting in the way, supporting you in working toward clarity, self-acceptance as well as courageously shed that which no longer serves you. We all find ourselves in patterns we cannot break out of and that is where I can help most. I take a holistic, integrative approach to facilitate the mind-body-spirit connection with the intention that you may live a richer, more meaningful life. You have an innate ability to heal and grow––therapy is a unique process that facilitates the reconnection and restoration of your true self.

Significant life transitions, complex grief, serious illness, trauma, can change your life radically. You might be grieving the loss of normalcy and expectations about how your life should be. Maybe you are having a hard time adjusting to these changes, grappling with uncertainty or questioning your meaning and purpose.

AEDP, an empathic and engaged approach to therapy fosters new and healing emotional and relational experiences.
I've been helping individuals and couples transform their lives for over 25 years and am the author of two books, Living Like You Mean It and Loving Like You Mean It. My overall objective is to help you experience meaningful change and achieve your goals in the least amount of time needed. Unlike more traditional approaches that focus primarily on talking, I help you have new emotional experiences that enable you to truly resolve core issues, move forward unencumbered, and, ultimately, have the life and relationships you really want.

For ten years, I lived in the world of high-stakes corporate transitions. I saw firsthand how pressure can reveal—or obscure—our truest selves. My journey from the corporate boardroom to the therapy room was driven by a single desire: to live a life aligned with my deepest values and to help others do the same. I understand that the path to transformation can feel unconventional or even daunting. That’s why I prioritize building a relationship rooted in compassionate directness. I don't just offer empathy; I offer a rigorous commitment to your growth, backed by a diverse toolkit of evidence-based modalities.

The brain has a negative bias, it scans for threat. Scanning for the "negative" is not all bad. Being stuck in this "negative" state of scanning for danger can hinder movement forward. I can help you shift from fear state to different states of being with interest and curiosity. This shift from state to state is what helps grow your resiliency and ability to tolerate.

I often incorporate accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mind-body connections to address the complexities of each individual and their struggles.
How do you feel about seeking help, especially for your mental and emotional health? Do you think it’s a sign of weakness? As a psychologist, I see it as a sign of strength, courage, self-awareness and maturity. I work with my clients to identify what they’re needing in order for them to improve their lives. I help people find the ways to change and experience personal growth and healing. I support my clients as they discover new aspects of themselves, which can be a challenging but rewarding process.

Have you ever had the thought that you can’t remember what it’s like to NOT feel anxious? Does your mind continuously operate on overdrive? Are you tired of the same repetitive thought patterns? Is life feeling like one endless chore with no light at the end of the tunnel? Have you ever told yourself you know you need to make a change, but you can't muster the will power to follow through? Do you feel stuck in your relationship patterns but don't know what or how to change? If you answered yes to any of the above, we might be a great match. I believe that great therapy involves using many lenses or frameworks in order to heal.

I draw from AEDP, somatic therapy, and relational psychodynamic approaches to support healing and the transformation of long-held emotional patterns into more adaptive, compassionate ways of being.
I work with adults facing anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, or relationship struggles—often shaped by emotionally immature, narcissistic, or mentally ill parents. My trauma-informed, attachment-based approach is experiential and emotion-focused, helping you process stuck patterns, deepen self-understanding, and heal at the root. I support parents breaking generational cycles and offer LGBTQ+ affirming care, with extensive experience with trans and gender non-conforming clients. My style is warm, collaborative, and focused on transformative, lasting change.

Welcome! I work with individuals and couples who are wanting to live a richer and less restricted life navigating anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. I also have a special interest in supporting people navigating all transitions of parenthood and the perinatal period: fertility, pregnancy, abortion, miscarriage, birth, and postpartum. I enjoy working with folks who are looking to journey inward and want to extend that awareness and understanding to relationships. I approach therapy from a relational/depth psychodynamic lens that prioritizes the therapeutic relationship and allows us to work with lifelong patterns clearly.

AEDP Therapists
Who is AEDP therapy for?
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) is for adults who have experienced emotional pain in the past that, because it has not been adequately addressed and processed, interferes with current functioning. The problems might manifest in a number of different ways, from excessive anger to relationship difficulties to PTSD to eating disorders, poor self-esteem, and depression. They may also be accompanied by physiological symptoms. AEDP helps people accept and digest challenging emotional experiences.

Why do people need AEDP?
People need AEDP as a way to manage distressing emotions—including anger, shame, and guilt—that in some way hamper the ability to function and form satisfying relationships in the present. The therapist-client relationship is believed to provide corrective emotional and relational experiences that facilitate positive changes in brain function, forge pathways for processing traumatic experiences, and allow resolution of emotional pain.

What happens in AEDP therapy?
Once individuals have established a strong bond with the AEDP therapist and the therapist has established a safe and secure environment, clients are encouraged to explore their most painful emotional experiences. They may be asked to pay attention to disquieting body sensations as well as to psychological discomfort. Individuals learn how to process emotions, rather than avoid them. Through the strength of the therapist-client bond, each session is intended to provide a powerful positive experience for individuals, enabling growth.

What problems does AEDP treat?
AEDP is intended to treat the unprocessed emotional pain caused by earlier distressing experiences, which commonly includes behavioral avoidance of current situations and experiences for fear that they will reactivate painful feelings. Emotional pain and avoidant behavior play a role in a wide array of mental health conditions, which is why AEDP is applied to the treatment of a range of disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and eating disorders.
