I believe therapy is a mutual journey made by the therapist and client. Though at times the waters are rough, the adventure can be exciting and rewarding. It is an opportunity for the client to create a different way of being in the world and discover new narratives of their personal story. Do you desire to move forward but don’t understand what may be holding you back? Are you seeking a supportive partner in your healing process? What is important to you when working with a therapist? I follow the notion that the relationship is one of the most important aspects of the healing process and utilize it as one of the main tools in the work with my clients. Whether it is processing trauma, exploring anxiety or depression , addressing relationship issues, or getting through a transitional phase of life, among many other reasons, sometimes therapy with a strong therapeutic relationship as a foundation can make a difference.

I'm a psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and families in the LA area and Sandpoint, Idaho. I have 25 years experience in one location and challenge the problems facing our complex and diverse society today. I believe in the Unity of Life. From the earliest single cell forms of life, to the complex human organism, there is a basic energetic function that unites: Pain & Pleasure, Thinking & Emotion, Mind & Body, Man & Women, Family & Society. When this unitary function is disrupted and blocked, healthy life suffers. Conflict and stress from this unitary disruption often results in irrationality, unhappiness and/or disease.

My career has been dedicated to helping individuals and their loved ones break down mental, relational, and environmental barriers keeping themselves from embracing and empowering their sense of self in the world. It can be rather easy to feel stuck in the past from previous life experiences or feel lost in the future from the pressures of the world. However, we all have the strength to free ourselves from these distractions and focus on our true and present self. Allow yourself and your loved ones the compassion, reflection, and intent to use these challenges as a way to restore your identity and your connections with the world.

Together, we will build an authentic, trusting connection where it is safe to unmask the parts of ourselves we normally hide. When someone seeks therapy, they are looking to feel seen, understood, and heard. Through our relationship, we will nurture the parts of ourselves that feel neglected. The relationship we have with ourselves is the foundation for all other aspects of our lives. My work focuses on nurturing that relationship to deepen fulfillment, practice self alignment, and feel more intimately connected with ourselves and others.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
