I believe in the strength, creativity, and resilience of people. After twenty years in licensed practice, I can see more clearly than ever that people are not hopelessly stuck. I believe that people do the best they can in the face of difficult and challenging circumstances. However, it is easy to get stalled in unproductive patterns of behavior. I want to help people find new tools and new ways of relating to others. My work is to help people find new perspectives, new ways of looking at problems, so that they can approach life with confidence, assurance,and serenity.
I believe that relationships of all kinds ground us and stabilize us in a rapidly changing world. My goal is to help people learn more productive ways of interacting in relationships. One of my specializations is sex therapy, helping people glimpse their potential through a full expression of love and intimacy.
In addition to my nearly twenty years in private practice, I am on the core faculty at a highly regarded graduate school in psychology. In addition, I make frequent presentations at regional and national conferences. I continue to offer training, supervision, and consultation for other professionals in the mental health fields.
