I help stressed-out, overwhelmed, and 'just plain exhausted' professionals, entrepreneurs and athletes, bounce back from anxiety, self-doubt, imposter syndrome, depression and burnout, using mind-body approaches. My mission is to combine the powerful tools of traditional psychotherapy with somatic, movement and mindfulness practices and make them accessible to the peak performers, the over-achievers, the cynics, and the ‘I dont have time for that stuff, I’ve got shit to do’ crew. No stuffy therapy office to visit, no long wait times, just plenty of real talk, tons of fresh perspective, and tangible results.

Our world is in an extreme state of uncertainty which can tax our existing coping strategies, shed light on unhelpful habits, and challenge us with fundamental questions about ourselves and our place in the world. I work with clients wanting to lean into these issues and offer a warm presence as they explore what’s happening underneath. Typically, I work with those struggling with trauma, depression , and/or anxiety, wanting to untangle the influences of their past. I also offer support to those that are dabbling with psychedelics by providing risk reduction and integration.

Rather than list my technical skills or present a diatribe about my approach to psychotherapy, I will tell you a few significant facts about myself and the work we will do together. I have been providing treatment for 30 years. My clients improve, they recover, and they heal. I assist people who suffer from anxiety and depression through insight and introspection focused on the analysis of a patient’s deep-seeded fear-related trauma and how that fear impacts the NOW . I focus on channeling the energy that can be harnessed from fear, a powerful human emotion that can rob us of our life energy.

Scanning through this website trying to discern which therapist will be a good fit from a photograph and a blurb is tricky and also a sign of the times. Ideally less time is spent searching the web for answers and more can be spent with a person whose sole intention is to understand the complexities of your point of view, your experiences and facilitate you getting to where you want to go, while walking right along side you. Depression , anxiety, trauma, distorted relationship with food, difficulty being productive; these are all areas I feel confident I can help you with.

There is a wholeness and knowing that exists within you. Therapy is the incredibly special process of cracking that open. It is a space where you can show up and be authentically you, which is hard for most of us to do. Many of us have been deeply hurt, traumatized, or disappointed by our families and close relationships. In turn, we are wounded, and react from that space. But often through societal pressures, we walk around smiling and pretending to be happy, when internally we are battling depression , numbness, or anxiety.

I use a tailored approach to help individuals working through attachment trauma, self-esteem, life transitions, disordered eating, negative body image, depression , anxiety, relationship/dating issues, and grief.
I believe what leads people to seek therapy is falling into the same, unhelpful patterns over and over again. These patterns can show up in our relationship to ourselves, to food, to substances, and to people. I approach therapy with the genuine belief that all people are worthy and capable of breaking these patterns and creating healthy relationships with themselves, with food and with others. My clients report the ability to identify and to challenge negative self-beliefs that get in their way and to create a new set of skills that enable them to build resiliency and an empowered send of self.

depression , anxiety, bipolar), interpersonal & social challenges, & personality disorders.
Do you ever feel like your emotions are running the show? Have you been trying, unsuccessfully, to change problematic behaviors? You are not alone and I can help. The ideal client is struggling to find joy or meaning in their life or is looking to stop using harmful coping mechanisms (avoidance, lying, substance use, self-harm, etc). I take the time to get to know each client and to examine why their behaviors and thoughts are no longer serving them. While looking into the past provides a great deal of information, emphasis is placed on learning to live in the current moment and managing the client's current reality.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
