I work with
women
struggling with relationships, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, major life transitions, and finding balance. I’m interested in getting to know the whole you — which is someone far greater than any single role in life or any single struggle or experience. Your therapy will be tailored to your individual needs, and we will work together to define what you truly want out of life. Through building a compassionate and healing space, we can take an honest look inward to help you develop an enriching life that feels more meaningful and satisfying.

If you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, personal/professional identity issues or anything that creates a barrier to living the life you desire, I can help. I work with
women
and men who are looking to engage in a safe and honest therapeutic relationship, in which you can explore those parts of yourself that are too vulnerable to share with the rest of the world. I believe the answers we all seek about life, love and purpose are buried within ourselves, waiting for us to find the courage to unveil and live them.

I have worked extensively with
women
, teens, and addicts.
At times, we experience painful feelings of guilt and shame, or think "I am not good enough". I specialize in helping individuals with severe sexual abuse & trauma. My primary approach is called EMDR, a mind and body therapy which can help you cope more effectively with painful emotions. When a person experiences mild to severe trauma such as abuse, divorce, job stress, or a life-threatening illness, the brain cannot always process the event as it should. As a result, trauma can have a lasting effect and can interfere with your relationships, job and coping with everyday life. EMDR treatment can help move toward healing.

I am dedicated to working with BIPOC, queer, disabled,
female
-identifying, gender non-conforming, and the adoptee community.
Do you find it hard to shake feelings of emptiness? Perhaps you are stricken with a grief that you don’t quite understand. Do you feel trapped by a nagging feeling of being “broken” or an “outsider”, like a stranger in your own skin? Maybe you are privately struggling with unrelenting loneliness and at the same time find it hard to trust others. People may tell you that you had a fine childhood, but it doesn’t mean that you didn’t face difficulty and endure trauma. Everyone experiences life uniquely. Our past––and how we each process it––can impact our present and impair our ability to function with resilience and ease.

Thank you for reviewing my profile. Looking for a therapist can be mutually daunting and exciting. It takes a tremendous amount of courage and vulnerability to decide to get support in any area of your life, and I am available to empower and guide you on your therapeutic journey. I offer a Relational Gestalt approach to therapy, which means that we build an alliance together focusing on embodiment and what is present for you in the moment. I bear witness and support you in increasing your awareness of your experience as we share space for your transformational healing.

I help people build healthy relationships, work through painful break-ups, improve their social interactions and reduce their anxiety. If you are looking for clarity on your situation, struggling in a difficult relationship, worrying a great deal about upsetting others, feeling confused or overwhelmed, I can help. Particularly, if you or someone in your life identifies with traits of Narcissistic or Borderline Personality Disorder, I can help you cope, whether it's you or your loved one suffering from these symptoms.

I have also worked with
women
and men in recovery as well as adults with developmental disabilities.
The therapeutic process is unique to the client. For some it involves deep reflection and questioning old idea's, and for others a problem solving collaboration. For me it is the excitement of the journey you will embark on, and the endless possibilities for growth. Transparency is paramount, and key to the process for both client and therapist. Work is progressive and tailored to the individual. As issues emerge, treatment plans are re-assessed and revised to meet client needs. For trauma I am trained in EMDR and Functional Family Systems for addiction CBT and 12-step and for couples family systems.

My goal is to listen well and provide the treatment that best meets your specific needs, to help you to identify your strengths and manage your vulnerabilities. In my work with families I encourage each person to express his/her individuality, and to cope with differences -striving for mutuality, fairness and harmony. My chief concern is with maximizing your capacities and potential, and helping you improve your relationship to yourself and to others. Together we may engage with imagery, sensory experiencing, movement, art, poetry and music to deepen self awareness and understanding (and relief from discomfort)

The mind can be a messy place. We might be confronted with wounds from our past, or haunted by replaying old mistakes or regrets. We might be bombarded with negative self-talk, feelings of being an impostor, or fears about being misunderstood. If we aren’t careful, the mind can become a self-fulfilling trap: the more we try to “think” our way out, the more disconnected we end up feeling.

As the Clinical Director of a group practice and sex therapist, I want my patients to feel safe; trust opens the door to healing. I have successfully treated: infidelity, sexual abuse, pelvic pain, sexual compulsions, and erectile struggles. As Rumi said, "The wound is the place the Light enters you." Stress and unfinished emotional work can make us feel stuck or lead to destructive relationship patterns, and sexual acting out. My office is a shame free zone where we can unpack together a course best suited for your individual healing. Sex is a complex as each of us are as individuals. Shame can be in your past; a new life awaits!

You may be feeling sad, anxious, overwhelmed, or confused. You may be experiencing a difficult life transition or feel that something is missing in your life. It is important to find a therapist with whom you have a good fit, a feeling that your therapist "gets" you in order to develop the trust necessary in a therapeutic relationship. I have over 35 years of experience helping people in a safe, non-judgmental environment. It is through feeling understood that we come to understand ourselves better.

The PCH Psychological Testing Clinic offers comprehensive and targeted assessments for psychiatric, psychological and neuropsychological issues, learning disabilities and ADHD or ADD. Each evaluation utilizes qualitative and quantitative testing to produce a thorough appraisal with recommendations for treatment and referrals. Assessments are individualized for each client based on a developmental and psychosocial history, medication history and medical and psychiatric histories. Testing focuses on the specific, relevant problems that need to be investigated, such as psychological problems, treatment resistance or failure, difficulties in school or work, cognitive processing issues, failure to launch and treatment dilemmas.

People are complex and life can be very challenging. The way we process and live our lives, especially the way in which we respond to life's difficult challenges, is often informed by painful experiences from our past, and unresolved issues. I will help you find the inner resources you need to recover, understand yourself better, and create the changes that will improve your well being. We all have the potential to heal, grow, and be successful in our lives. It is this potential that provides hope for all of us to overcome pain and adversity.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
