Welcome! My approach to therapy is collaborative and focuses on insight, empowerment, and making meaningful changes in life. I offer support around anxiety, depression, grief and loss, chronic illness, life transitions, traumatic experiences, creative blocks, burnout, improving relationships, and contemporary existential crises. I am particularly interested in mindfulness, attachment, and neurobiological perspectives in therapy. Because of my background as an artist, I enjoy working with other creatives, and helping people tap into their innate creativity. I am bilingual in English and French and offer sessions in both languages.

Anxious, depressed, or stuck? I work to create a safe, non-judgmental space for adults and adolescents of all religions, races, sexualities, and genders to process their life needs, wants, and fears. I provide psychotherapy within the context of a therapeutic working alliance; by first building trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship, one can then work towards tackling larger life goals. I work from a core belief that our minds and bodies are deeply connected. Treating the whole person, including the impact of stress on their physical body, is an important component to treating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and more.

I provide individual, couples, and group therapy for conditions like anxiety and depression, among others, as well as communication and relationship skills.
I love those moments when a client has an “Aha Moment,” saying with raised awareness, “I’ve never thought about it that way before.” Perhaps this moment is in regard to helping heal an emotional wound or recognizing how to overcome a seemingly insurmountable barrier standing in the way of one’s goals. Sometimes clarifying what those goals are, discovering a path toward achieving them, then taking small/realistic steps to do so is what the therapeutic work is about. Healing emotional wounds and uncovering or remembering your strengths will help you clarify and possibly even reach your goals.

Are the feelings of helplessness and powerlessness always present in your life? Have you been acting fine while there is a lot of anxiety, hurt, and anger inside? Having this mental state can be painful. Many people learn not to talk about it and get busy in their life. This avoidance can worsen their anxiety and depression. And it can develop other mental health symptoms, such as panic attacks, insomnia, and obsessive compulsive disorders. Trauma and attachment injuries are often the root causes of the issues.

We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of developmental and learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, anxiety, depression, and other childhood based disorders.
Our current clinical practice offers psychological and psychoeducational evaluations and treatment for children ages 2-18, with an emphasis on developmental, behavioral, and learning diagnostics and intervention. Parent training and education are central to our practice, as we believe that the most substantial and sustained change in child behavior comes when families are empowered to take strategies learned in therapy sessions and apply them to real life situations. We collaborate closely with medical, educational, and clinical providers both during the assessment and treatment process to ensure that families are fully supported.

I specialize in working with clients with childhood trauma, anxiety, depression and postpartum depression.
We live in a fast paced, stressful, and achievement-oriented culture where we are expected to move through our lives checking off our endless to-do lists. Many of us have accepted this as the norm and we inevitably begin to see the impact of a life filled with days lived at a frantic pace. Without building in time to pause and reflect, so many of us find ourselves experiencing the painful effects of depression and anxiety. I am committed to helping people embrace mindfulness and taking time to process their past and present in a safe space.

Do you need a safe space to process complex generational trauma? Do you long for guidance in managing anxieties and depressive symptoms because of past traumatic experiences that may be linked to bad childhood experiences? Do you need coping skills to reduce anxiety/depression and learn self-regulating tools to get back into the ‘zone’ and maintain healthy sense of self? Are you open to learning more about your inner strengths that you may not be aware? Such strength can support you in living a healthier life, despite having a mental health condition.

My clients come to therapy seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, others, and the world. They may seek a space free of judgement to explore themes including trauma, depression, anxiety, grief & loss, sexual & gender identity exploration, among others, so there can be an emotional processing and integration of all parts of themselves. They may be seeking therapy that is body-oriented to uncover internalized emotional wounds and traumas. By following the body’s sensations, my clients can learn to befriend, trust, and inhabit their body safely to make space for the embodiment of more presence, trust, and empowerment.

If you’re experiencing obstacles to your dream of having children, you may be dealing with deep disappointment, depression, anger, loss, isolation, and spiritual questioning.
Infertility is a journey that no one signed up for. For those who want children, it’s simply devastating to be unable to expand your family as planned, while others around you move forward with their lives. Yet 1 in 8 couples experience infertility and many others experience barriers—systemic, financial, and biological—to pursuing their family-building dreams. In my practice, I focus on issues related to fertility (delayed parenthood, egg-freezing, pregnancy loss, donor-conception, surrogacy, IVF, and other forms of family-building). I understand the intense stress these issues can place on your relationships and mental health.

“Regardless of how long ago something happened, and regardless of how long symptoms have been there, it doesn’t need to be permanent.” - Getting Past Your Past (Shapiro, 2012) Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues or other daily symptoms that leave you feeling discontent, there is a solution. By utilizing a client-centered approach, I meet you where you are from session-to-session in order to provide an environment focused on comfort, trust, and understanding. I see healing as a sine wave, with ups-and-downs but always on an upward trajectory. Together we will walk through your healing.

Whether you are depressed, anxious, or stuck, I will work with you to uncover your life force and authentic life direction.
You made it here which means a courageous part of you is seeking understanding, meaning, and healing. As a psychoanalyst, I am trained to listen for the soft whispers of desire and hope living beneath the mountain of fears, disappointment and despair accumulated through a lifetime of heartbreak. Through deep listening, exploration, and a little play, we will come to know the various ways your pain story continues to speak. We will examine the unique self-protective behaviors you developed to keep you safe and how these feelings and behaviors may be getting in the way of the intimacy, connection and internal freedom you are seeking.

I work largely with adults and couples who struggle with issues related to anxiety/depression, trauma, life transition issues, women's issues/empowerment, and identity exploration.
The weight of carrying too much will eventually break even the strongest down. It’s completely okay to feel overwhelmed by the struggles of the world and the personal challenges we each face but perhaps you’re ready to offload some of the weight and look for ways to better understand how to navigate these difficulties going forward. Showing up for yourself in therapy is a brave and powerful step towards healing. My approach is warm and empathic. I believe therapy works best when it is not prescribed as a ‘one size fits all’ but rather as a collaborative and individually tailored approach to accomplish each client’s unique goals.

What has been helpful to me and others that I've worked with, is a combination of coping skills found in CBT, EMDR and CRM to reduce anxiety and depression and get in the ‘ZONE’ by learning how to self-regulate the nervous system.
Do you find it difficult turning off worry and find yourself catasthrophizing every worst case scenario? Do you often worry about your health or feel that some undisclosed illness is affecting your body? Are you finding it difficult to relax or seem to work more than usual? Did covid or a medical experience leave you fearful now of developing a terminal illness? Did you fear dying either from Covid or the vaccine as we did not know enough about either? Having myself struggled with crippling worry and low level depression, I know what its like to feel 'stuck' and loose HOPE.

I believe seeking therapy is the first and the most courageous step towards healing, especially due to the misguided stigma about mental illness. Having gone through my own mental health journey, I understand the challenges and barriers to a life worth living whether it be anxiety, depression, self-criticism or the unresolved past traumas. I want you to know that you are not alone. I believe through therapeutic healing we can take the next step towards exploring and accepting rejected parts of ourselves and integrating them for a more fulfilled life. I create a non-judgmental and compassionate environment in my practice.

I specialize in PTSD and childhood attachment trauma, relationship struggles, anxiety/depression, perfectionism, healing shame, grief, multi-cultural identity issues, historical and intergenerational trauma, and perinatal and parent mental health.
The capacity for healing resides in everyone. Therapy is about unhooking from self-limiting adaptive patterns, while cultivating self-acceptance and reconnecting with essential wise parts of yourself. I work with men and women using a depth-oriented, body-mind approach to explore the complexity of identity and relationships. My aim is to help you understand from an embodied perspective the deeper dynamics of your struggle, strengthen the parts inside of you that can move beyond it and engage in life with a greater sense of meaning, strength, and self-compassion.
