I work with teens and adolescents with kids who are are struggling with a variety of mental health issues while trying to find themselves in this complex world. Many of my teen/adolescent clients struggle with issues of anxiety, depression , trauma, ODD, OCD, school anxiety, experimenting with pot and alcohol use, conflict with their families, self esteem issues, social anxiety, anger management and sexual identity issues. We talk about what's going on in their lives and I help them with DBT and CBT techniques to manage triggers so they don't act on these intense emotions to create an even more difficult situation or crisis.

Our life experiences can lead us to question our identity and purpose in the world we live in. This can lead us to anxiety, depression , and trauma. Do you want to improve how you face challenges, function in your relationships, and face overwhelming feelings? I place heavy importance on addressing trauma. Trauma disintegrates the parts that make up your whole self, which can leave aspects of who you are hidden from your awareness. Left unaddressed, anxiety and depression can worsen, which can rob you of the necessary connection that all human beings need to thrive. I aim to help you process unresolved trauma.

With more than a decade of experience, I work effectively with clients struggling with issues ranging from depression and anxiety to addiction and relationship problems.
I am happy to see the recent focus on the importance of mental health. After a pandemic, difficult social change, and economic uncertainty, it is normal to feel anxiety about the future. I am "down to earth" and "easy to talk to" which helps people work through issues more deeply. Using evidence-based approaches, I draw on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and humanistic psychology to help clients move forward in meaningful ways. I tailor therapy to each individual and include all aspects of a person's life, including family dynamics, cultural factors, job / financial pressures, coping skills and health/ wellness.

During this time, I have worked with patients dealing with depression , anxiety, self-esteem, poor interpersonal skills, substance issues, and other mental health concerns.
So much of what we experience in our early life impacts who we are as adults. Whatever barrier or struggle you may be experiencing; I am here to go through this therapeutic journey of self-understanding in order to build on the strengths you inherently have and to achieve a life of resiliency and fulfillment. A motto I live by is “Hold the vision and trust the process.” It can be a hard decision knowing that you need support and seeking it out. For that I am grateful that you have taken this step in getting the support you deserve.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
