My approach to therapy is typically long-term, client-focused, and combines elements of attachment, existential, and psychodynamic therapies, and works to find the best possible method to help the client meet their own needs – usually with stories, humor, and empathic understanding.
Hi! I'm passionate about working with young adults and individuals who are sorting out their identity, new job/college experiences, or changes in relationship or religious beliefs. I've also had experience working with those who've experienced religious trauma, adverse religious experiences, or spiritual abuse. It’s an honor to work with people who are interested in doing the difficult, yet rewarding work of self-discovery and healing. I find great significance in helping people find themselves in order to move towards healing and wholeness.

Many of my clients begin therapy because they find themselves stuck in patterns and behaviors that are not satisfying to them. When you're stuck, it's easy to feel depressed, anxious, and alone. It would be my privilege to come alongside you in that difficult place. As we work together, you will be empowered to express yourself more freely, create more meaningful and fulfilling relationships, and discover how to get out of unhelpful patterns.

Perhaps you are struggling with anxious or depressing feelings. You may have been hurt by others or encountered painful life circumstances that have led to being overwhelmed by the stressors of life. The process of therapy assists with finding the words for one's thoughts and feelings that may have been eluding you. Therapy is a place to know oneself and to be known by another. The process can result in an increased understanding of your actions and choices along with a place to work through emotional injuries. The result can be a higher level of personal satisfaction and an increased ability to handle life.

A few years ago I read a joke: "Fish don't know they're in the water". The scenario is that Fish Number One asks Fish Number Two, "How's the water?" Fish Number Two responds, "What the hell is water?". The fish who is "in" the situation (hence the water) does not even realize its surrounding. Second what surrounds you is only normal because it's what you know. I got another one that I recently came across: "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." This references to dream analysis but it basically mean that our preconceptions can dramatically alter the way we perceive the world. (Quote is by writer Anais Nin).

NOT TAKING NEW CLIENTS. Many people seek therapy when their coping skills no longer work or when relational issues cause continual heartache. Coming from past negative childhood experiences, I became a therapist to help individuals in their journey of discovering inner courage, strength and awareness of who they were created to be. I offer a client centered, empathetic, safe, non-judgmental environment working towards a greater sense of wholeness and inner freedom, offering hope and coping skills.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Psychodynamic therapy, also known as insight-oriented therapy, evolved from Freudian psychoanalysis. Like adherents of psychoanalysis, psychodynamic therapists believe that bringing the unconscious into conscious awareness promotes insight and resolves conflict. But psychodynamic therapy is briefer and less intensive than psychoanalysis and also focuses on the relationship between the therapist and the client, as a way to learn about how the client relates to everyone in their life.
