I have a deep desire to provide healing to those who are hurting, to give each individual the resources for positive change, and to help them gain insight and understanding into the world; resulting in a brighter tomorrow. I believe that you cannot change the past, but you can be strengthened by it. My favorite quotes is 'It's okay to look back into the past, just don't stare." The client-therapist relationship is of the utmost importance to me and my goal is to lead individuals on a personal journey of awareness while providing them with hope, empathy, and unconditional positive regard.

Therapy offers the opportunity to share with someone, maybe for the first time who you really are. A safe therapist will help minimize feelings of shame and guide you toward deep appreciation for the younger parts of yourself that protected you from overwhelming pain. Unprocessed pain makes it difficult to trust that the people you care about most are attached to you. In couples therapy both sides likely feel unseen, alone, and fearful that they are not worth being loved the way they desire.

Exhausted by the way you think about yourself? We are often (if not always) our own worst enemies. Whether this has caused you problems with guilt, shame, anxiety, depression, addiction or you name it - the starting point is generally the same. When we embark on the project of therapy you will be asked to put your painful thoughts and feelings into words. As the process unfolds, the strength and fervor used to overthink and condemn yourself will become accessible to use productively in reaching your goals.

Are you sometimes distracted by unhelpful thoughts or insecurities during sex? Do you worry that you'll disappoint your partner because of unreliable erections or differences in sexual desire? Do you sometimes avoid partnered sex altogether because masturbating to porn feels less complicated? You might have even wondered or been told that you have a porn "addiction." If so, you’re not alone and there's nothing "wrong" with you. You may simply be one of the many adults experiencing performance anxieties, desire discrepancies, or who have adopted popular culture's inaccurate beliefs about sex. The good news? I know how to help.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
