I work well with individuals who are seeking to learn more holistic ways to address their emotional and relational challenges whether they be family of origin issues, trauma, the challenges of parenting a child with special needs, chronic illness, anxiety, or depression . My general frame work is that you cannot separate the body from the mind nor can you separate a person from their life time of experiences, therefore working with all of these systems is a highly effective way to improve happiness, decrease anxiety and stress, and increase coping skills to manage life with more ease and improved relationships.

If you are suffering from medication resistant depression , anxiety, OCD, or PTSD, a combination of talk therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) may be the answer for you. For many people, antidepressants do not fully relieve the symptoms or cause too many side effects, and it can become very difficult going through multiple medications that do not seem to work. After failed medication attempts, you are eligible to be treated with TMS and therapy together. Call our Specialists to learn more about your options.

In my practice, I seek to promote mental wellness by utilizing various approaches like Client-Centered, Attachment Theory, Cognitive-Behavioral, Strength-based and Solution-Focused therapy techniques in order to help alleviate symptoms of depression , anxiety and more.
Hi! My name is Britney Calhoun and I appreciate you showing interest in wanting to engage in counseling at B Kind Therapy. As the founder and therapist, I want to acknowledge how hard it is to make the decision to begin therapy. I understand that sometimes we get stuck and move out of alignment, resulting in feeling alone and unsure about where to even start the journey. At B Kind Therapy, developing an authentic relationship with my clients is truly important to me. I believe that therapy works when people feel safe, supported and are given the tools to create a life they want to live.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
