Do you find yourself wondering why your depression and anxiety never seems to go away? Have you tried therapy before just to have your symptoms return? Well, you are not alone. I support clients who are navigating anxiety, identity shifts, neurodivergence, and the complex emotional terrain of being a person of color or other marginalized identity in today’s world, especially those who’ve struggled to feel seen or understood in traditional therapy settings. I’m a good fit for clients who are reflective, growth-oriented, and ready to invest in long-term change. Many of my clients are high achievers, creatives, entrepreneurs, helping professionals, or folks navigating multiple identities who are looking for a therapist who “gets it” on a cultural, emotional, or spiritual level.

In dealing with stressors, life events, challenging relationships, and traumatic experiences we develop patterns to keep ourselves safe and sane; which often also limits us. The challenge is unlearning these narratives and trusting our innate wisdom. When we feel safe, secure and accepted for who we are we can begin the process of shedding what doesn’t work for us, while exploring our untapped potential. I believe you are the master of your story; and I hope to create a safe space where we can gain insight about your inner battles, develop skills to enhance holistic development, and realize the potential of your authentic self.

Well-being includes being centered in body, mind and spirit; also happiness and health. Therapy can be a journey to reaching a state of balance and self-love. The challenge is to face and overcome the hardships and stressors that have a nasty habit of getting in the way of being our best self. Getting there isn’t always easy, but having someone to support you along the way is a courageous step in the right direction.

I support clients working through trauma, difficult emotions, and patterns that no longer serve them. As an eclectic therapist, I meet you where you are—not as the “expert” in your life, but as a real, authentic human. My style is low to moderate in structure, with loose plans based on your goals while leaving room for what comes up in the moment. I’m also expressive, bringing myself into the room rather than taking a blank-slate approach, and I work at a safe, collaborative pace.

You remember how it used to feel, the ease, the laughter, the warmth. Now it’s as if you’re living beside each other instead of with each other, circling the same arguments or avoiding the hard conversations altogether. The distance between you feels painful, confusing, and heavy. When you first met, you never imagined that the person you once felt so connected to would one day feel like a stranger. You find yourself wondering, When did everything change? Can we ever get back to what we had? Something inside you knows this can’t go on the same way. You can feel that things need to shift — but you don't know where to begin.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
