As a clinical social worker, I have an eclectic approach to treatment. I help you examine your life experience holistically. I walk beside you in treatment, support you in your endeavors, and cheer you on towards wellness. My therapeutic approach and compassion are rooted in my past work with the homeless population, foster youth, the severe and persistently mental ill, and survivors of rape, domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. After receiving an M.S.W. from the University of Southern California, I practiced in the Los Angeles and San Francisco area.

I utilize these specialized trainings in both play therapy and trauma resolution to resolve concerns such as: family stress, divorce, relational trauma, discipline and behavioral problems, and anxiety.
I have spent much of my career pursuing advanced trainings in PT, SE, and NARM, as well as healing from my own experiences. I believe we can only take our clients as far as we have been willing to go ourselves. We all experience relational trauma on some level and the healing from these experiences requires a collaborative, attuned, and safe relationship.

By the time a child with ADHD reaches the age of ten years old they have received over 20,000 additional messages of criticism than their non-ADHD counterparts. These stressors stack up over time and can build to a state of complex trauma by the time we reach young adulthood. What have these stressors done to dim your light? Living with neurocomplexities like ADHD can cause us to expend massive amounts of emotional energy. Coping mechanisms crop up to try to shield us from shame and failure, and then end up becoming a trap that makes it difficult to imagine a future where your true personality can exist too.

If you or your child are struggling, it can be hard to know where to start. We work with children, teens, adults, and families navigating anxiety, big emotions, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Many of the families we see are looking for support not just for their child, but for how to feel more confident and effective as parents. We help make sense of what’s going on and create a clear, supportive path forward.

You may be carrying the weight of self-doubt, past trauma, or the pressure to be everything to everyone. Maybe you’re navigating complicated relationships, struggling with intimacy, or trying to balance work, family, and your own needs. Many of the clients I work with feel stuck in cycles of self-criticism, disconnection, or overwhelm, while others face depression, anxiety, substance use, or family conflict. Some are drawn to deeper work with ketamine-assisted psychotherapy or psychedelic integration, using these approaches to soften defenses, access insight, and open new pathways to healing and connection.

Divorce Therapists
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
