I work eclectically, with a strong preference for somatic therapy, mindfulness, and CBT, incorporating EMDR when clinically appropriate.
You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself and others. Trauma, anxiety, grief, and life transitions can leave your nervous system on constant alert — making it hard to feel safe or grounded in your own skin. Something in you is ready for something different, even if you're not sure where to start. Therapy can offer a space to slow down, reconnect with your inner world, and build steadiness from the inside out — so you can move through life with more clarity, ease, and trust in yourself.

Hi there, I’m Rebecca. The main factor that predicts successful therapy treatment is not the theories or interventions (or fancy couch), but the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client. You deserve to feel that your therapist truly cares, listens attentively, and supports you. My approach has been described as warm, genuine, and direct. I believe that therapy is not a one size fits all, and that we bring our own individual needs when it comes to our mental health.

I work in a somatic, relationship-centered style with individuals longing for access to rest, nervous system repair, and relief from symptoms of trauma, as well as youth and teens living with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or grappling with their sexuality/gender identity.
Your story matters, and so does your body. I offer a blend of talk therapy and somatic practices, rooted in relational and developmental trauma healing. One of my unique offerings is bodywork / touch therapy, inspired by my training in cranialsacral modalities. Together, we slow down, build trust, and restore your capacity for connection and aliveness.

Hello and thanks for your time, attention and ultimately your courage and commitment to healing. We all need a little help sometimes. For nearly 20 years, I've been a therapeutic guide for my clients - often facilitating profound change and forward movement resulting in healthier, happier lives for themselves and those around them. I am both a deep and heart-centered listener; and an active and involved therapist. You'll usually leave with some type of homework if you're open to that... even if it's just observing some aspect of your life more closely and reporting back on it.

Neuroscience-based approaches and EMDR, BSP, somatic, parts, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness practices are used to help my clients start healing themselves.
My clients come to me when they're experiencing emotional and/or mental distress and just want the pain to stop...now. They are sleep-deprived (or the opposite), stressed over college, depressed about work, angry or indifferent to everyone, anxious, frustrated by everything! Their stomachs hurt and heads ache. The problems may stem from unmet needs (love, belonging, self-esteem), various issues (trauma, anxiety, addiction, depression, chronic pain) or not meeting personal or life goals. While change can feel difficult and scary, you can learn powerful, safe ways through as you progress to becoming the person you truly want to be.

I use Somatic Present-Based Relational methods, EMDR, and Experiential Therapy.
Perhaps you're struggling in silence, and from the outside, everything seems fine to your friends and family. But what happens when your outer world doesn't reflect what's going on inside? You may feel overwhelmed, lost, or too embarrassed to speak up. Who can you talk to or trust that you can say the things that you don’t feel right to say out loud? You are not alone, and it is more common than you may think. This increases anxiety and can stand in the way of building fulfilling relationships, achieving career success, or finding a place of peace where you truly feel at home.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
