I am trained in Somatic Experiencing (SE), Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and other advanced modalities (TRM, CCTP, DIR), with over 25 years experience in complex trauma and dissociative disorders.
You appear highly capable while internally managing chronic stress, overwhelm, identity-related strain, relational patterns shaped by trauma. The tension and heaviness don't have to dominate your daily experience. It is possible to renew your nervous system, honor the strength it took to survive, and continue into freedom and ease. Therapy with me is structured, attuned, and grounded. We work at a pace your nervous system can tolerate, with attention to boundaries, consent, and practical integration. My role is to help you develop greater internal stability, choice, and self-trust.

My approach is depth-oriented, integrating somatic awareness and attention to patterns in relationships, emotional reactions, and even dreams.
Many people come to therapy feeling disconnected—from themselves, from others, or from a sense of meaning—especially during times of loss, transition, or overwhelm. I offer a steady, supportive space where you can slow down and begin to reconnect with your own voice and desires. I believe this is essential in a world where we are inundated by others’ ideas about how to live and feel.

We have all experienced a shift in our "normal" lives; our usual way of being during the past few years. We are looking at our world, our society, our friends, family and ourselves and nothing is as it once was. During these extraordinary times, you may be questioning what life is about; the meaning of it all. You are not alone, my friends. Many of us are experiencing anxiety, as our once familiar "normal" has shifted to a new "normal". I understand this and you. We can work through this together.

I integrate trauma-informed depth work with somatic & contemplative practice for individuals & couples.
Many people who seek me out are thoughtful, self-aware, and have already done significant inner work. You may understand your patterns intellectually and still find yourself repeating them in relationships, identity, or work, or sense that something deeper has yet to shift. I specialize in trauma, attachment and relationship patterns, LGBTQ+ identity, spirituality, and major life transitions. I work especially well with therapists, healers, and others accustomed to holding space for everyone else. Together, we attend to the relational, systemic, embodied, and spiritual layers beneath these patterns while building greater self-trust.

Many couples come to therapy because the same conflict keeps repeating and they can’t seem to interrupt the pattern on their own. Does this sound familiar? A conversation starts small but quickly escalates. One partner pursues, the other withdraws. Someone feels criticized. Someone shuts down. Over time the pattern becomes so familiar that the relationship itself begins to feel like the problem. My work focuses on slowing that pattern down in real time so both partners can see what is happening beneath the conflict and begin responding differently.

You’re successful in many areas of your life, but relationships feel like the one place where things still don’t fully click. You assumed that after building a successful career, a fulfilling relationship would be the next piece. Whether you’re single, dating, in a long-term relationship, or considering leaving a relationship, you can't shake the feeling that you're not where you thought you would be at this point in your life. You don't want to be alone, but you also don't want to lose yourself in the wrong relationship. The overthinking can feel exhausting, when all you really want is to feel connected and close to someone.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
