It's okay to ask for help. In fact, it's brave! We live in a busy and uncertain world with many expectations. Often times people feel like they aren't enough or that there is something wrong with them. You may feel you are not thin enough, a good enough mom, student, partner, employee, etc. But you are enough! And you are not a problem to be fixed! You are a human to be understood! Whether you are struggling with an eating disorder, anxiety, OCD , addiction, or how to navigate life in general, my goal is to create a space for you to feel safe enough to show up as you are and to know that it's okay to not be okay.

The resiliency of people is always something that inspires me. It is my belief that each person is unique and has the potential to grow and change, all it takes is the desire and the commitment to do the work. As a therapist I have had the privilege of walking along side people and see these changes first hand, whether it's through an awaking of insight, breaking patterns of behavior, lifting of anxiety/depression, or deepening of relationships. Therapy is an intimate, empowering experience, and it is truly a beautiful thing to see people meet their goals and lead the lives they always wanted. Lets begin that journey together today.

I like working with clients struggling with OCD , eating disorders, trauma, anxiety and depression.
Let’s not waste any more time being unhappy, unfulfilled, and stuck. To thrive as people, we need to recognize our values and goals. Those values and goals change throughout time, as we age. Change is constant. That makes a lot of people uncomfortable. But it’s time to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Being uncomfortable means you’re growing. Being uncomfortable means you’re challenging yourself. And before we get too far, I am not talking about inappropriate discomfort. I will teach you the difference. If you are too afraid of change, to embrace change, I probably will not be the right fit for you as a therapist.

If you are suffering from medication resistant depression, anxiety, OCD , or PTSD, a combination of talk therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) may be the answer for you. For many people, antidepressants do not fully relieve the symptoms or cause too many side effects, and it can become very difficult going through multiple medications that do not seem to work. After failed medication attempts, you are eligible to be treated with TMS and therapy together. Call our Specialists to learn more about your options.

I have helped individuals with anxiety, OCD , phobias, relationship/family issues, career life goals, stressful life transitions, depression, anger management, and Asian American issues.
Searching for the right kind of treatment and provider can be a challenging process. Therapy is one form of help that can transform your life and free you from unneeded pain and suffering. Therapy is a mutual exploration of self, to help you understand your symptoms, recognize automatic behaviors, and identify unhealthy patterns. The process of change involves small choices and actions repeated daily, to build a life you want. Together we take this journey of self-discovery, navigating the ebbs and flows of life, to find moments of purpose and meaning again.

I practice each intervention through distinctive situations my clients may experience when living with trauma and mental health which can develop symptoms of depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and co-occurring addictive disorders.
Childhood trauma can cripple us, it creates overpowering ‘intense’ emotions such as anxiety, depression, and anger when left unattended which begins to create physical symptoms to defend our bodies from the internal wounds. Has there ever been a time in your life where you have experienced this reaction? Are you experiencing these feelings based on current or past trauma from childhood, early teens, adolescence, adulthood, or as a senior? I aim to utilize a variety of actionable techniques to help reduce trauma related symptoms and make lasting changes in life.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

OCD is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
