As a dedicated child and adolescent therapist, I believe that healing and self-discovery happen through experience, not just conversation. In my practice, I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where young minds can explore their emotions and thoughts through various expressive modalities. Utilizing techniques such as drawing, role play, pantomime, storytelling, play therapy, movements, dance, poetry, and music, I help children and adolescents engage with their inner world in a way that feels natural and supportive.

EMDR therapy is for you if you feel like you should be okay, but are not. You may be managing anxiety that will not quiet down, past experiences that still feel close, or a sense of being stuck despite your insight. Many of my clients are caregivers, first responders, medical professionals, and outdoor adventurers who are used to pushing through but feel internally exhausted or unable to shift long-standing patterns. I specialize in EMDR therapy for this experience, when you are functioning but your nervous system still feels overwhelmed or impacted by the past.

My training in EMDR, CRM, and EFT along with being IFS informed are foundations I use to support my clients on their journeys toward recovery.
Does this quote resonate with you? Sometimes, we forget to fight for ourselves in the midst of caring for others. It’s a beautiful reminder of how vital it is to prioritize our own healing, not just for our own sake but for those around us too. Blending deep breathing and mindfulness, therapy with EMDR and IFS is my holistic approach.

After over 15 years battling addiction and experiencing trauma, seeking relief from my own pain, I found a new way of life. Leaving the corporate world, I set on a path of service, connecting to individuals and families seeking healing of their own. Over the last two and a half decades on both sides, I gained invaluable experience working with several organizations in admissions, case management, counseling, aftercare and intervention as well as volunteering time whenever possible. Recovery is about finding healing for the individual and family while learning to communicate in a new way.

You’re the one who keeps the house running, remembers the schedules, and manages everyone’s emotions. From the outside, you have it all together. But internally, you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and feel like your nervous system never turns off. You love your family deeply, but the "invisible load" of parenting, work, and life has left you running on empty. You want to stop reacting in ways you regret and start feeling like yourself again. You’re looking for more than "self-care" tips; you want to understand why you feel so stuck in survival mode and how to finally find a sense of true internal calm.

I work with adults and couples who are facing challenging life transitions that might have them feeling overwhelmed & stuck. If you want to discover/re-build your sense of self, build healthy codependency so that you don’t fall into recurring negative patterns. If you struggle with intimacy, vulnerability & setting healthy boundaries but want to build healthy relationships and build trust not only in yourself but with others, then I can help you! This can happen through navigating/exploring core emotions in order to recognize patterns and behaviors that might contribute to the feelings of anxieties, insecurities, fears, & burnout.

Using integrative methods like EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems ( IFS), and somatic-based therapies.
When you’ve spent your life showing up for everyone else, holding it together, succeeding on the outside, but quietly unraveling inside, it can be hard to imagine a life where you get to be the one held, heard, & understood. Maybe you're navigating the fallout of a painful relationship, carrying old stories that keep replaying, or silently managing anxiety, burnout, or grief. You’ve likely tried to talk yourself into feeling better, only to realize healing doesn’t happen in your head, it happens in your nervous system, your relationships, & your sacred story.

Hi there, my name is Kellie and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here is Southern California. Though the majority of my work has been working children in the foster care system, I've always enjoyed working with people from all ages. I find that my approach is simple, treat others how you would want to be treated, with dignity and respect. I look forward to seeing how we might move forward to get you to where you want to be. I have done a lot of trauma work throughout the years. Anxiety, depression, and sexual violence is something I am very familiar and comfortable working with.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
