Most of us are not born knowing how to navigate relationships, understand and manage our emotions or process our traumas. Many things throughout our life influence us and how we react and behave in different situations, however that doesn’t mean we can’t grow and develop as individuals. My goal is to help clients become confident in who they are through discovering their own self-worth and practicing self-compassion. We can work together to create a space where you can find the tools and support you are looking for during this period of your life.

As someone who also lives with ADHD and has completed specialized training in this area, I understand how these struggles can feel both exhausting and invisible.
When you're living with anxiety, depression, or the weight of past trauma, it can be hard to feel like yourself. I hold a Master’s in Education and Clinical Counseling from Azusa Pacific University (2017), and I support clients through an integrative approach that draws from CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems, SFT, and supportive therapy, always working at a pace that feels right for you.

I support adults and teens who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
Hi there, I’m Rebecca. The main factor that predicts successful therapy treatment is not the theories or interventions (or fancy couch), but the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client. You deserve to feel that your therapist truly cares, listens attentively, and supports you. My approach has been described as warm, genuine, and direct. I believe that therapy is not a one size fits all, and that we bring our own individual needs when it comes to our mental health.

My practice includes specialties in anger management, premarital counseling, foster parent counseling, couples issues, children 15+ and adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, grief and loss counseling, anxiety, divorce and blended families.
The goals in therapy need to be your goals-with achievable and manageable steps to reach the goal. We discuss the issue, set the goals, and discuss the goals each session.
In our first session, we will discuss intake paperwork, go over the type of therapy you can expect from me, and also what kind of therapy received in the past, if any. I will go through the intake on your background, what brought you here, and the goals sheet to get to know you more for our journey.

As a youth, I recall many instances when I experienced intense anxiety, depression, even suicidal thoughts, – but I did so in isolation, without adequate support. Mental health services were not available and not commonly accessed in my community. As a young woman I used dance and movement, and other forms of creative expression (such as writing and singing), as my means to manage emotions. I became a psychotherapist to ensure that I could be supportive to those in similar situations – to help support people in not feeling alone with the difficult aspects of life and relationships.

You thought opening your relationship would bring energy, closeness, and possibility. You imagined feeling more alive, more connected, and more like yourself. Instead, you find yourself carrying worries you never expected. Maybe you feel insecure when your partner sees someone new. Maybe you feel guilty for wanting more than one connection. Or maybe the two of you are stuck in loops of communication that leave you hurt, confused, and questioning the future. You want this to work, but right now it feels heavier than it should. What was supposed to be fun has become overwhelming. Something needs to change.

ADHD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
