Have you ever felt stuck, defeated, or as though you were just going through the motions? Has the line between stressful and overwhelming become blurry? Help may only be a few clicks away! I work with teens, adults, and forensically-involved individuals who desire a supportive, non-judgmental ear. Together we will explore contributors to negative thoughts, stagnation, and problematic coping methods (like substance use or lashing out). I cannot promise that all of your problems will vanish, but I can assure you that I will support you and guide you toward improving your daily functioning and your overall quality of life.

I support adults and older adults through life's major shifts, including grief and end-of-life care.
I use a strength-based approach to identify your core values and build skills from that foundation. Together, we explore grief as a unique experience and use CBT to address negative thinking patterns and behaviors. My goal is to help you find coping strategies that feel authentic to your lifestyle and goals.

Have you reached a point where you’re tired of holding everything together while quietly feeling overwhelmed inside? Many of the individuals I work with struggle with anxiety, overthinking, people pleasing, relationship stress, and major life transitions while trying to balance family, cultural, or personal expectations. You may appear fine on the outside, yet internally feel emotionally drained, stuck in unhealthy patterns, or disconnected from your own needs. Therapy can be a space to slow down, better understand yourself, build healthier boundaries, and feel more grounded and confident in your relationships and daily life.

I have over a decade of experience helping late teens, adults, and older adults in their self-discovery journey.
If you're a queer person, woman, or adult child of immigrants navigating self-doubt, anxiety, or depression, you might feel stuck in cycles that leave you questioning your worth. You may struggle to understand who you are, express your needs, or set boundaries that reflect your truth. If you're feeling disconnected, burdened by generational pain, or silenced by others’ expectations, you’re not alone.

Hi, I'm Trini (she/her/ella), a queer and neurodiverse therapist who creates space for healing through authenticity, connection, and care. Our mental health is shaped by more than just personal struggles—identity, trauma, and systems matter, and I honor that in my work. I specialize in supporting adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, family conflict, and relationship challenges. I’m especially passionate about supporting first-generation, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent individuals who often feel unseen, misunderstood, or marginalized in traditional spaces.

Does it seem like nothing ever goes your way, and it’s hard to know where to turn? I get it — I’ve been in that place a few times, too. Whether you’re coping with a relationship ending, the stress of being a young adult, or midlife changes, it’s discouraging that life doesn’t always go as planned. I enjoy working with people discovering who they are, including college students, people who are new to their careers, and those who are adjusting to a life transition at any age. I draw from psychodynamic theory, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy) to provide a customized approach for your needs.

FAQ - About Therapy for Seniors
Is one ever too old for mental health therapy?
Individuals of all ages can benefit from mental health therapy. Indeed, older adults in particular may benefit from the social and psychological support a therapist can provide; the topics that older adults address in therapy may simply differ from those of younger clients. Seniors should seek out a therapist who has experience working with older individuals and who is well-versed in addressing common concerns among elderly individuals, such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and physical mobility challenges.

How is counseling for seniors and the elderly different from counseling for other age groups?
In general, counseling offers an opportunity for clients to process difficult life events and develop coping skills they can use outside of the therapy session. Therapists who specialize in working with elderly clients generally have the same framework but may place a special emphasis on specific topics, such as caregiver relationships and reducing loneliness. They may be specially equipped to deal with certain physical conditions or facilitate discussion surrounding end-of-life topics. Counseling for the elderly may also place a greater emphasis on social work-type topics to ensure that geriatric clients have access to necessary resources, such as food, a safe home environment, and healthcare.

How can therapy improve the quality of life of aging individuals?
Therapy for aging adults can greatly improve quality of life by providing an opportunity for them to process difficult emotions related to end-of-life, navigate relational or caregiver challenges, and develop coping skills for common mental health conditions, like anxiety or depression. Subsequent reductions in negative emotions and mental health disorder symptoms can make day-to-day living much more manageable for aging adults and those that care for them. The ongoing relationship with a trusted therapist can also help seniors combat loneliness and provide a sense of structure for their routine.

What are the qualities to look for in therapists who see seniors?
Seniors counselors, like mental health counselors in general, should be kind, empathetic, skilled at listening, and knowledgeable about their particular area of expertise. Counselors specializing in working with the senior population should be very familiar with the aging process in general and the common conditions that the elderly can face, such as dementia, depression, loneliness, and/or physical illness. Many senior counselors are also well-equipped to help caregivers and families navigate the aging process of their loved ones, and they may draw on Interpersonal Therapy to help facilitate improved interactions between seniors and those that care for them.
