I have experience working with high acuity needs, domestic violence , family instability, complex trauma, self esteem, anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues, working through relationship dynamics.
I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach and I strive to tailor a therapeutic approach to each individual’s needs in treatment. Therapy is not a sprint, but an ongoing process where the individual works to learn the necessary coping mechanisms to help them manage the the everyday stressors of life more effectively.

INTERRACIAL COUPLES…. Culturally diverse factors may exist but the underlining issues threatening your happiness are the same as any other relationship. Emotional detachment leaving you feeling isolated and disconnected when there has been a shift in focus to career, friends, children, hobbies or social activities. Your partner fails to express gratitude or appreciation for the contribution you make to the relationship leaving you agitated and bitter. Sensing a loss of sexual intimacy or struggling with physical affection. Toxic Masculinity or Femininity may have left you defenseless against verbal or physical abuse .

I've helped individuals, couples, families, and groups, of all ages and from all walks of life, many with severe diagnoses such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, danger to self and to others, substance abuses and addictions of all kinds, domestic violence , sexual abuse , eating disorders, and other challenges.
You deserve to feel happy, healthy, and loved! Your relationships can be the best part of your life, helping you to feel joy, appreciation, and fulfillment...or you can find yourself just going through the motions. In our stressful and demanding world, it is all too easy to disconnect from those who are most important to us; poor communication leads to a lack of understanding, and we become demanding, intolerant, and unforgiving of ourselves and of those who matter most. Instead of sharing quality time together, we spend our energy tearing each other down. Gaining awareness, and learning from the past instead of dwelling on it, are some of the first steps toward moving forward. I find nothing more satisfying than helping people to overcome their obstacles so that they can love and feel loved, accept and feel accepted, and realize that they are truly worthy of all that life has to offer. Since 2009, I've helped my clients become better versions of themselves; let's work together and start turning your possibilities into realities!

I work with varying levels of disconnection and trauma, including C-PTSD and narcissistic abuse ; and explore both past history and present symptoms.
Are you struggling in your relationship and/or wanting a deeper level of connection overall? Talking to someone to help you better understand & identify the signals your body is giving you as well as your patterns & defenses, can create positive and lasting change. I also enjoy working with couples - helping partners to understand the underlying dynamics at play in your relationship & supporting conscious transformation. I love doing this work, believe that it is both beautiful and empowering, and view it as a privilege to work with you. Life is a journey and it can be comforting to know that support is available.

Domestic Abuse Therapists

What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?

Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?

Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?

Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?

It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
