Break free. Heal, laugh, and live life on your own terms. I work with women—professionals, mothers, and creatives—who are ready to reconnect with their true strength and energy. You may struggle with self-doubt, people-pleasing, burnout, trauma, or the weight of societal expectations. Like many of my clients, I am guessing you are open-minded, curious, and eager to break free from a life shaped by others. You want to feel confident, happy, and at peace, and to regain the courage to live life on your own terms.

Welcome! I can support you toward cultivating more fulfilling, connected, and meaningful relationships with both yourself and others. I work with adults who are ready to look inward, especially those carrying wounds from childhood, struggling with social anxiety, or feeling like connection is something that works for other people but not for them. If that sounds familiar, I can help you understand what’s really happening inside, increasing insight about what you’ve had to hide or fight against just to get through life.

Growing up does not have to be unnecessarily painful or lonely. I help children, adolescents and young adults navigate developmental transitions with creativity and purpose. I also provide parents with education, skills and support to augment treatment. Young people often need guidance to explore their feelings, discover their unique strengths, and find meaning in their lives as they transition into adulthood. Challenges like family conflict, school problems, sexual confusion, depression, identity development, substance abuse, anxiety and stress can be greatly alleviated through the attentive support of a caring, unbiased professional.

I help young adults and adolescents build confidence, stability, and a secure sense of self during the exciting yet stressful shifts that occur during early adulthood. Many of my clients have experienced trauma and find that it impacts their relationships, school, work, and general sense of self. This can lead to feelings of sadness, anxiety, low self-esteem, and difficulty trusting yourself. These feelings can impact all relationships, but many encounter challenges when dating and getting involved in romantic relationships, as they may experience attachment concerns, intimacy challenges, and difficulty choosing good partners.

Are you struggling with feeling down and stuck? Are there experiences from the past that are impacting you negatively now? I mostly work with adults and teenagers struggling with trauma, depression, and anxiety. I often find our inner beliefs have a huge impact on our lives, our sense of self, and our relationships. As your therapist, my main focus is to provide you a safe space that is free-from judgment and offers you a process-oriented approach to identify unconscious feelings and beliefs. I offer a genuine and understanding therapeutic relationship for you to feel held and seen, as we reflect together.

I work with people who wish to change self-limiting beliefs and destructive behaviors. I'll assist them in becoming aware of triggers, habits and unexamined assumptions which keep them stuck in repetitive cycles. By developing insight and understanding, they're often empowered to make new choices that are more in harmony with who they are and what they truly want.

Changes are hard, but not impossible. I believe lasting change occurs through profound self-understanding and awareness. This can be achieved through a collaborative relationship where we talk and think together to gain insights and meanings. My role is to provide a safe environment where a trusting relationship can be built. By listening to your stories, I will help you process the thoughts and feelings that emerge in order to develop a deeper understanding of your past traumas, inner conflicts, and destructive patterns. These newfound insights will then guide you to make changes in your current relationships or life situations.

With compassion and humor I provide a safe place for adults to get help with personal situations such as relationship/work stress, break-ups, retirement, chronic/ life-threatening illness and disability, depression, anxiety, dementia, care-giving of people of all ages, and "coming out". Life transitions have a common thread - loss, grief, and opportunity. Even joyful experiences can be difficult. You may feel stuck, out-of-control or have worrisome regrets and anxiety. You may feel "at a loss", you can't just "shake it off", or feel "it's taking a toll" on you.

As a Queer, Black, bicultural, first generation clinician, I know personally the experience of intersectionality and am passionate about working with others of intersecting and/or marginalized identities.
One of the bravest things we can do in life is to seek help when we need it most. It can be difficult to carry our struggles alone, and a true relief to have someone help us hold them. I work with clients experiencing a range of concerns including trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, school or career issues, life transitions, family conflict, identity development, discrimination, and existential distress. No matter what is bringing you to therapy right now, the key is an openness to the possibility of your own healing, evolution, and growth. From there lies the door that can lead to the discovery of your full potential.

LGBTQ+ Therapists

Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?

Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?

Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?

While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
