Wherever you are in your journey, together, we can explore what is contributing to feeling stuck and empower you to make the life changes you desire. My hope is to create a therapeutic relationship, in which you feel seen, heard, and valued. I will provide a safe space where you can reflect on who you are, who you want to be, and how you show up in your relationships with others.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with many years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families, as well as adults. My interventions are heavily rooted in behavioral therapy and evidence-based practices including feminist and attachment theories. However, I tend to conceptualize clinical presentations from a multicultural and social justice perspective. While I employ empirically validated treatments to ignite change, I am also of the belief that there is no single story to any individual. Consequently, it is important to understand the social, cultural, political, and spiritual context of each individual.
Over human history, people have mostly lived in close-knit communities. This has eroded with the advances in transportation and technology. Most people have lost much of the social support our forebearers enjoyed. Mental health professionals have taken on this role in their respective communities and are an excellent resource for helping you realize your strengths and improve your wellbeing. When your car breaks down, you take it to a mechanic. When your tooth hurts, you see a dentist. When your mental health can use a "tune up," see a mental health professional!
I specialize in treating women, young adults and teens struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, sexuality, spirituality/faith, identity, life transitions, boundary issues in relationships and family dynamics. I'm also a high school counselor and am very familiar with school systems and working with adolescents and the challenges they may have with motivation, Covid-19 stressors, isolation and self-esteem.
Throughout my years of experience as a mental and behavioral health provider, I have learned that my drive as a psychotherapist is highlighting my clients strengths and resiliency. I have been trained in multiple evidence based practices and have worked in various settings. I specialize in trauma and utilize I-CBT/TF-CBT treatment modalities. I am intentional in collaborating with my clients to identify the best approach based on their needs. I am passionate, creative, and transparent in my treatment approach.
Each person is unique, therefore so are their concerns. I approach therapy based on the individuality of each adult, teen, and child, and their personal needs. Assisting you in working though thought patterns and feelings that are causing you distress is my goal. Being the parent of a tween/teen, you might find yourself looking for answers to questions that allude you. Often there are issues you would like to have a better understanding of, or a way to process them. I will assist you in finding the tools needed for you or your child to live a less stressful and more fulfilling life.

I am currently providing telehealth (phone or video) appointments. Are you motivated to address family-of-origin, mood, or interpersonal issues in psychotherapy? I enjoy working with clients who want to improve their self-esteem and assertiveness, in particular people who would be considered late social bloomers (including socially awkward/mildly anxious). My ideal client wants to break out of self- or other-imposed limitations so that they can live a full life that is in line with their own sense of sovereignty.
I have been in practice for nine years. I have extensive experience working with children, teens, and families. I am very passionate about working with clients and helping each individual develop healthy coping skills to overcome obstacles in their life. I use a Cognitive Behavior approach and specialize in children and adults with Anxiety, Depression, mood disorders, and ADHD. I use positive communication skills and a non-judgmental approach to engage with each client. I am bilingual in English and Spanish.
My greatest passion is bringing healing to people who have been through traumatic/stressful experiences. I have helped clients that includes children, adults and families to help them find that health perception of themselves and strength in their relationships. I know that there's no single approach that is right to resolve past experience and it is different for every individual. My approach is listening to my clients needs and helping them find peace, complete, whole and safe. So what is an ideal client? That is hard to say as every client is unique with their needs and ways to approach them are always different.

You want to be present, find ease, and fully enjoy your life and relationship but anxiety, trauma, and big transitions keep getting in the way. You've worked hard to create this life and you're so many different things for so many different people. You're the dependable, caring, one who tries to "have it all together" for friends, family, colleagues, your partner. In the middle of all the roles, changes, and expectations you've lost yourself, disconnected from your needs, values, and joy. Maybe your relationship is moving into a new phase and it's overwhelming, you're healing after a breakup, or you're just done living this way.
Everyone's journey in life is different. I am here to help you continue to be the best version of you through healing and acceptance. My primary approach is person-centered focused, as I allow you to guide the way through your journey of life.
“Mental health…is not a destination, but a process. It's about how you drive, not where you're going" Noam Shpancer. I am honored that you chose me to be part of your journey. Make your mental health your priority.

I believe that Spiritual healing is as important as emotional & physical healing. I began working as a christian counselor over 5 years ago and I have witnessed authentic, holistic and complete healing from the inside out, within the lives of many. I am passionate about working with people, especially in the Faith-based community. I embrace the opportunity to support those in the faith-based community who desire integrating their faith and foundational beliefs into their restoration and healing process.

Sometimes, things happen in life that cause us significant pain, whether this stems from early life experiences, life transitions, mental illness, interpersonal difficulties or unexpected crisis. Navigating through these experiences in a therapeutic setting can make the difference between tolerating the pain (or even resorting to methods of easing the pain that create more problems) and coming through it more resilient with the ability to live a life with meaning.
