You've likely spent a lot of time and energy trying to resolve stressors in your life before considering therapy. Maybe coping strategies that were once effective now leave you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or exhausted from trying to hold everything together. Sometimes it looks like constant overthinking, perfectionism, burnout, or difficulty slowing down. Other times it shows up through struggles with food or body image, self-doubt, relationship stress, or feeling disconnected from your values. I work with teens and adults across life stages who are looking for support, insight, and meaningful change.

As a therapist I've provided treatment services in a variety of settings residential, behavioral/mental health, elementary/ high schools grades K-12th, and private practice. Sudden and dramatic life transitions can rock our world, causing us to frequently feel disoriented and unsettled. Whether such moments are encountered through loss of a loved one, divorce, trauma, substance recovery or something equally profound, ones faith, meaning, purpose, and direction is often called on as a means to sustain us. I welcome the opportunity to work with you to heuristically discover and strengthen your inner-self and potentiality.

Have you tried every kind of therapy and nothing is giving you the results you’re looking for? Traditional talk therapy helps us identify our issues and wounds, but it doesn’t heal them. True healing comes from accessing a different part of the brain- the part that was wired when we were young and when most of our traumas occurred. Our brain gets wired to protect us when we’re young, but those protection methods rarely continue to be helpful as adults.

You might look capable and steady on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck in cycles of overthinking, or disconnected underneath. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship patterns who want to better understand themselves and create meaningful change, not just insight. Anxiety doesn’t just live in your thoughts. It shapes your nervous system, your reactions, and how you experience relationships. I help you understand your patterns so you can respond rather than react, soften self-criticism, and build boundaries without guilt.

You want to live the life you imagined for yourself; however, you find that self-criticism, painful past experiences, & negative feedback from others are taking up most of the space in your head. Your mental & physical energy are drained, leaving you feeling stuck and unmotivated. Your joy & hope are held captive & you find yourself in survival mode doing just what it takes to get through the day. You look at others & long for the success, confidence, & meaningful relationships that they seem to have mastered. You've tried many things (maybe even other therapists) & haven't achieved lasting change.

Many people who come to see me are thoughtful, capable individuals who feel frustrated by their own reactions. You may struggle with anxious thoughts, tension in the body, poor sleep, or feeling overwhelmed even when you’re doing everything “right.” On the outside you may appear calm and successful, yet internally your mind never shuts off. Many people eventually ask, “Why do I react like this?” What they want is not just insight, but a way to feel calmer, clearer, and more in control of their responses and a path toward lasting change. - Now hiring psychological assistants. See my website for details. -

You're overwhelmed in a life that, from the outside, you've built well; inside, you're falling apart. The baby cried and you waited a few seconds longer before going in- a quiet protest against a life that no longer paused for you. Your life reorganized around the baby while your husband's went on unchanged — that distance is the loneliest part. Each day feels identical — the slow drift, the racing thoughts, the waiting to feel like yourself again. You laugh at the right moments, then wonder if you're a good enough mom. You don't have to navigate this alone — together, we can find the way back to the woman beneath it all.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
