I am a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked extensively with individuals, couples and groups with a variety of relational and emotional issues such as depression , anxiety, grief and loss, attachment, boundaries and integration.
"If I only knew then what I know now." People often think about how their lives might be different if they had made different choices. Many experience the outgrowth of therapy in similar ways to the maturity, wisdom and peace gained in the latter stages of life. Within the confines of a safe and nurturing environment, I can help you explore why you think, feel and behave the way you do. With me walking alongside you, you can begin to develop a stronger sense of who you are and make positive changes in your life and relationships.

Therapy can help you overcome challenges such as addressing negative feelings, making behavioral change, managing a transition, or dealing with grief, loss, and trauma. Therapy is also a great place to learn about strengthening relationships, setting goals, and challenging yourself to be the person you want to be. I have been working with and advocating for individuals, children, and families since 2005. I welcome all clients, but found my techniques to be particularly helpful in working with anxiety, depression , life transition, trauma history, PTSD, grief or loss, and couple & family dynamic issues.

No one should have to feel alone or unsupported during life's difficulties. Many of my clients come to therapy because they are experiencing depression , anxiety, or loneliness. These difficulties are often related to their relationships, identity struggles, trauma, or major life transitions. I enjoy working with individuals who feel overwhelmed/stuck, and/or disconnected from themselves, peers, or significant others, in order to help them regain confidence and connection. Additionally, I often work with couples (engaged/dating/married) who are distressed and struggling to connect, communicate, and find peace in their relationships.

I specialize in treating trauma, childhood emotional neglect, anxiety and depression .
Often, when experiencing difficulties in life and relationships, it is the stories we tell ourselves and the conclusions we make that bring us the most pain. These false and biased conclusions inhibit our ability to effectively cope and commit to a better way of functioning. I believe that each client is the expert on themselves and consider our work together a collaborative process to learn, understand, grow, and heal. I approach each client with empathy and respect as they maneuver new ways of thinking and feeling.

I love seeing young people overcome anxiety, depression , and trauma - set free to move toward their potential and enjoy a life of meaning, courage, joy, and hope.
High school and college are especially difficult waters to navigate right now. If you're a parent, you want your son or daughter to be happy and successful, and you want to know they'll be okay now and into the future. It can be heartbreaking to watch them suffer. You want them to find someone they can feel comfortable talking to and someone you can trust. The youth I tend to work best with in therapy are those who are bright, capable, and motivated but they're being held back by anxiety, depression , or trauma. They are open to being in therapy and ready to give it a try.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
