I also work with trauma using informal exposure, art therapy, teen therapy, and couples therapy.
I wonder what kind of therapists people scroll through psychology profiles to therapist shop for. When people ask me what my ideal client I actually wonder whats people's ideal therapists? I think this is important when thinking about an ideal client and therapists because I see it as a collaborative work. I'm not here to force you what I think is best for you, therapy is something both the client and therapist figure out together to meet the clients' needs and goals.

As you take one of the most difficult steps in your pursuit of relief, I offer you my encouragement & support. That’s exactly what therapy can help you with. Together, we will process emotional experiences with a new understanding, while repairing wounds from the past and the present. I mainly customize therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of the individual, child, teen , or couple.
You are intended to live life with a sense of meaning, passion, and humor. And much of human suffering is rooted in circumstances beyond our control. I want you to know that your sadness, grief, anxiety, anger, or relationship issues are welcome here. I care about your emotional health and would like to help. The first step in establishing a healthier way of thinking and living is having someone to talk to. I provide compassionate, non-intrusive methods and inspirational counseling that produces freedom of past and present challenges that may alleviate symptoms or reduce psychological and emotional suffering.

I taught psychology as an assistant professor, and have extensive research experience in the areas of adolescent peer relationships, self-esteem, school adjustment, and alcohol use.
I believe in the adaptive healing power that is innate in all of us. A large part of our negative reactions and self-defeating behavior come from the unconscious, that is outside of our reasoning and willpower. By tapping directly into the unconscious and changing the way some memories are stored in the brain, we can stop reacting and begin responding in an adaptive manner. As a licensed psychologist, I have worked with children and adolescents and their families for the past 20 years. I would love to guide you in your journey of self-discovery and wellness.

Now is the time to focus on growth, healing, purpose and direction in your life. Therapy is a powerful tool for adolescents and young adults when you encounter challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, family issues, substance use, poor self-esteem, relationship issues, + loss. Therapy is an opportunity to find comfort, to build strength and to overcome. For adolescent clients: Life is complicated and the bottom line is that your life can be difficult to navigate. I’m well aware that most young people aren’t thrilled about the idea of going to therapy, know that I am ready to hear you, to respect you and to value you.

Do you live in constant fear? Are you overwhelmed by grief? Do you find yourself feeling sad, withdrawn, irritable, and lonely? Are you struggling to communicate with your teen ? Do you often wonder why they behave in certain ways? If so, I would like to help. We all would like to think we are strong enough to overcome these issues on our own, but there comes a time when we need to reach out for additional help. I specialize in treating trauma (specifically sexually abuse), mood disorders, and grief. I also have worked extensively with teens and their families, so I know the problems that are unique to teens.

Hi! In a world where so many of us regularly get the message that we are flawed, I think it is important to start by saying something that we might not hear so regularly, which is, that it is okay to be you. But if I’m being honest, being yourself is not always an easy thing to do. As a therapist, I place priority in creating a therapy environment where clients feel safe to share the most authentic versions of themselves without fear of judgement. In addition to a safe therapeutic space, my goal is to assist clients on their paths towards self-expression and self-acceptance no matter where they are in their journey.

Throughout our lives, we all have experienced feelings of depression, anxiety, and anger. These emotions leave you feeling insecure, shameful, lonely, unworthy and stuck in unhealthy patterns of behavior. Trauma can have negative emotional and physical effects and can lead to family/relationship issues. I specialize in solution-focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and CBT. These approaches allow me to work with the client to decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression and other health/behavioral issues.

As a therapist, my goal is to facilitate healing through empowerment, validation, and deep self-reflection. I believe that you are more than the problems you face, the labels placed on you, or the trauma you have endured. I believe that you are the true expert on your life, while I see myself as a coauthor, helping you to explore your inner self and re-write your story so that you may live freely and authentically. I am also committed to my own growth, meaning I actively strive to research and practice anti-racist, anti-ableist, LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive, body-positive, and trauma-informed care.

Teen Therapists
Adolescence can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can raise questions of independence and identity; as adolescents cultivate their sense of self, they may face difficult choices about academics, friendship, sexuality, gender identity, drugs, and alcohol.

Most teens have a relatively egocentric perspective on life; a state of mind that usually abates with age. They often focus on themselves and believe that everyone else—from a best friend to a distant crush—is focused on them too. They may grapple with insecurities and feelings of being judged. Relationships with family members often take a backseat to peer groups, romantic interests, and appearance, which teens perceive as increasingly important during this time.

The transition can naturally lead to anxiety about physical development, evolving relationships with others, and one's place in the larger world. Mild anxiety and other challenges are typical, but serious mental health conditions also emerge during adolescence.
