I combine family therapy with Jungian psychology, believing them to be two sides of one coin-outer and inner relationships.
I believe that it takes courage and wisdom to ask for help. Giving yourself the time and space to work things through is a gift to yourself and your relationships. Therapy is also a partnership for growth. I work with individuals, couples, families to help them achieve healthier relationships and to add more meaning and purpose to their lives. We live in an era of change. People often need help to move through transitions, cope with their anxieties, and work they way through depression. I like to help clients build emotional stamina, clearer thinking, claim intuition, and make soulful connections.

For the past 10 years, I have worked with children, adults, couples, and families in order to improve their pattern of interaction with others. Relationships are essential to our lives, but at times it can be difficult and painful in relationships. Whether I work with you individually or in a couples/ family setting, the goal of therapy is to improve the joy you have in your relationships. Seeking help can be overwhelming, but it is most effective when you are ready and willing to work towards the future you want for yourself.

Family and relationships are an integral part of an individual's ability to be happy, and healthy. I believe that all individuals can benefit from the unique relationship that is built between the therapist and client. Individual's who have difficulty with mental health problems are particularly appropriate for treatment. I have more than 11 years experience working with children with severe behavioral and attachment difficulties, and the family 's/friends who love them. The parent/partner relationship is a particularly special relationship that requires support, attention, and caring reflection. I am calm and supportive.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
