I believe that the power of vulnerability is one of our greatest strengths and ultimately can provide us with a deeper sense of self, security, comfort, and more compassionate towards one another. Coming from a strength-based form of doing therapy and providing support to others, I work to provide my clients with a sense of validation and comfort. As a cis male that identifies as Latinx and as a proud member of the LGBTQIA community, I am able to hold the experience of living in many diverse, cross-cultural emotional experiences that we sometimes may not even know how to begin to understand.

You’ve done the insight work, but something still feels stuck. Maybe talk therapy hasn’t reached the depth you’re longing for. I work with adults, young adults, and relationships navigating complex trauma (CPTSD/PTSD), grief, eating disorders, substance use, anxiety, depression, and identity exploration. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and culturally responsive, supporting those moving through immigration, belonging, and layered identities. Many of my clients are highly sensitive and seeking a more experiential, embodied, and meaningful path to healing.

You’re not in crisis — you’re under constant pressure. Your mind is always on, your body stays tense, and the stress never fully turns off. You might be getting through work, relationships, and family expectations without falling apart — but inside, it feels like you’re always bracing. You push through, second‑guess yourself, and tell yourself it’s fine… even though you’re exhausted and it never really eases. If this feels familiar, you’re not alone — and you don’t need to push through it by yourself. I work with high‑functioning adults who are tired of carrying this kind of pressure all the time.

Most of my clients describe me as nonjudgmental and deeply empathic. I create a warm welcoming space for you to become you. Sometimes that's all some people need to heal. In such moments, I stay experience-near and follow your lead. Other times clients come to therapy with more circumscribed problems such as addictions, disordered eating, or sticky anxious thoughts. I find these often respond better to a more directive approach. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I believe psychotherapy is both a science and an art. My goal is to remain flexible and adaptive to the individual needs of the person in front of me.

Alcohol Use Therapists
Are there specific medications for alcohol use?
There are oral medications approved to treat alcohol use disorder—such as disulfiram, acamprosate, and naltrexone, which also comes in an injectable form. These medications do help people reduce their drinking as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone helps reduce cravings, disulfiram can make a person feel sick when they drink, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.

How do alcohol recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other patients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals live at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff can also include people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other tools for recovery.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for alcohol use reduce the amount of alcohol they intake. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
