I have years of experience working with clients with diagnoses of depression, anxiety, and trauma, as well as working with neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ clients. I have supported clients in understanding why they are experiencing their symptoms, what skills they need and what skills work for that specific individual, and encourage them to utilize their learned skills in order to improve their symptoms and overall functioning.

I work with adolescents, young adults, couples, and individuals.
If life feels heavy, uncertain, or like you're just going through the motions, you don't have to navigate it alone. Many of the people I work with carry the weight of looking like they have it together while quietly wrestling with anxiety, relationships, self-worth, or significant life changes. I specialize in working with sexual addiction as well. Beneath these things are often a deeper hunger for peace, belonging, and purpose. I believe these needs are worth tending to.

I also specialize in couples and family therapy.
Anger, anxiety, depression, shame, and challenges with self-identity are often rooted in unresolved trauma. When left unaddressed, trauma can deeply impact our relationships and family dynamics. As your therapist, my goal is to collaborate with you in managing trauma-related symptoms and moving toward a more meaningful, fulfilling life. I use a client-centered approach to create a safe and supportive space where unresolved emotions and reactions can be explored. I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is just as important as the modality used because healing begins with trust, connection, and the freedom to be vulnerable.

Generally, my history of working with clients at a deep level gives me insight into those things that are difficult for them to see. Since I work with groups, I am able to identify the patterns that are preventing growth and I’m also informed of the effects of family history and trauma

My practice includes both individual therapy with adults and older adolescents as well as couple's therapy.
When it is possible, I believe that people are benefited by a therapy that continues for six months or more, but there are times when focused, shorter term therapy is most appropriate. I tailor my approach to the specific needs of each patient or couple, taking into account their prior life experience and hopes for the future.

I believe the best therapy involves slowing down our habitual process and developing a deeper understanding of how we truly want to respond to ourselves, our friends and partners, and our world.
If you work with me, I start with the basic premise that you are already whole, precious, and loveable. You have all the goods to make it in this world. Our job together is to uncover how to connect you with who you actually are, so that you can be with yourself and others in a way where you like how you are being and live the life you actually want to live. I specialize in addressing the impact of traumas and reorienting clients toward their innate wholeness. You may feel limited or stuck in cycles of anxiety, depression, or general off-ness. Together we can explore your patterns and develop new ones.

Deciding to change is hard, requiring courage to look within, ability to acknowledge pain, and finding the strength to manage our mental burdens. Many clients have asked what the formula is to have success in therapy, and I tell them it’s about making appointments, showing up, and participating. For those who are ready, change often comes in positive and unexpected ways. I believe you are the expert in your life, and I’m here to help you discover the strengths already within you; as we all hold untapped healing power but sometimes need a guild to find it within ourselves.

I provide individual and couples therapy, and focus on helping people struggling with depression, relationship issues, trauma and PTSD, and coping skills.
I am a very down-to-earth, easy-to-speak-with person. At the end of a session, I want you to know there is someone listening to you—another human being that you connect with. Goal setting is a collaboration: I give you ideas of what may be helpful, and you provide input on what is most important to you. Together we develop a plan that suits your needs.

Childhood trauma can cripple us, it creates overpowering ‘intense’ emotions such as anxiety, depression, and anger when left unattended which begins to create physical symptoms to defend our bodies from the internal wounds. Has there ever been a time in your life where you have experienced this reaction? Are you experiencing these feelings based on current or past trauma from childhood, early teens, adolescence, adulthood, or as a senior? I aim to utilize a variety of actionable techniques to help reduce trauma related symptoms and make lasting changes in life.

How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
