Working from a more holistic approach to therapy, integrating both somatic and transpersonal facets to our conscious experience of life, I assist clients, through mindfulness, meditation, dreams and expressive arts to access, trust and develop strengths, attributes and resources to cope with anxiety, depression, body dysphoria, pain, grief and loss.
I choose to see life's challenges as invitations to know ourselves more honestly, and to accept ourselves as we are. I believe that when individuals are self-aware they experience life as more meaningful and challenges as less distressing. I help individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions and relationship issues, to embrace their wholeness and strengthen inner resources not yet recognized. From this place of knowing and alternate or adjusted perspective, individuals develop compassion for self and other, gain confidence in relationships, and feel more assured in their ability to address the challenges life presents.

I specialize in trauma resolution, embodiment, honoring and transforming grief, and cultivating intimacy & fulfilling relationships.
I want to reflect the wholeness that exists within you at this moment, even with the challenges and stuckness you might be experiencing. I believe healing begins with creating the space for a different kind of relating with yourself and your life that honors your innate wisdom. One that is fed by curiosity, compassion, and loving presence. Through supporting the wisdom of your body-mind-spirit-soul, it is possible to move beyond "managing" painful symptoms and stuck patterns that often emerge from past overwhelming life experiences and trauma into true healing, authentic vitality and engagement with life. Healing is possible.

In your formative years you may have been the victim of abuse, exposed to drugs/violence, lost a parent due to divorce, death or abandonment, or had unreliable, cold or overbearing parents.
I work especially well with thoughtful, curious people who lean towards growth (or want to) even in the midst of uncertainty, pain or ruptures in their relationships, and are seeking a deep, transformative experience in therapy. Those with Childhood Trauma may notice issues with intimacy, loneliness/isolation, anxiety, depression, difficulty expressing emotions, interpersonal conflict, low self-esteem, and built up anger. Adverse Childhood Experiences shape our early life and oftentimes lay the foundation for harmful patterns regarding how we see ourselves, each other, and the world. Therapy can help unpack & recover what was lost.

Silicon Valley can be a stressful place to live. Sometimes, the demands of living and working in this area rob us of the passion we once had. If you are feeling pulled in too many directions...if you are feeling like your needs take a backseat to everything else in your life: kids, work, older parents, spouse, then I would like to help. You can feel like you once did, full of LIFE and PASSION. Running on empty can lead to depression, anxiety, relationship drama, and health problems. You can feel better, even THRIVE, while meeting life's challenges with ease.

Life can be overcome by stress easily, and for some of us that stress becomes unbearable. Thoughts and feelings become overwhelming, leaving life feeling out of control and chaotic. In my work, I bring a wealth of curiosity and compassion to exploring a person's inner world of thoughts and feelings. Through this exploration, clients find deep internal healing and develop meaningful satisfaction in work, relationships, and most of all within themselves. I am trained in Internal Family Systems therapy, which has given me a means to help people reach their goals and create the life they long for.

My specialties include: Anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, trauma, recovery, and life changes.
Seeking therapeutic support can feel intimidating, and it takes courage to reach out and ask for help. Thank you for stopping here to learn more about me. I support individuals, couples, and families in accessing their own innate wisdom and healing potential. My style is humanistic and transpersonal. I find that the deepest, most impactful changes take place when we address issues holistically, by engaging the mind, body, and spirit in the therapeutic process. A bit of well-timed humor can also go a long way.

Grief, shame, fear that at times keeps us from moving forward authentically in our lives and relationships is often the place that holds the most insight and the place within us that longs for compassion and deep understanding.
My commitment to all my clients is to provide empathy, compassion, and curiosity in order to support authentic expression of feelings and needs. The path towards authentic expression is unique to the individual depending on their background, their experience with therapy and their specific therapeutic goals and so I offer various therapeutic interventions, to support authentic self expression and healing. I value both the exploration of one's past as well as here and now functioning through mindfulness practice. Using a holistic approach and focusing on the client's strengths and insights, the journey towards wholeness begins.

I believe we all want a sense of satisfaction in life. Somewhere along the way we may create false beliefs, stories and exhibit maladaptive behaviors all with positive intention. But in reality, we are further disconnecting us from our true selves in the process. Helping my clients to be gentle and compassionate towards themselves and exploring the ways they learned to cope, adapt and respond to the world is the first step towards recovering their true selves. Then the journey of awareness, introspection and healing can begin.

I specialize in end-of-life, bereavement support, spiritual psychology, compassionate-focused therapy, expressive arts, play in therapy, and mindfulness-based stress reduction for trauma, loss and grieving.
Writer John O'Donohue defines my view of being a therapist: "This is what therapy is about: helping people retrieve what has been lost to them, wakening and bringing home their fundamental wholesomeness.. Therapists are like poets: they draw on the power of words in the profoundly creative work of bringing people fully alive to themselves, awakening in them the human capacity for divine imagination that ‘dreams our completion’.”

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
