Being vulnerable to anyone is scary! But, I know you are on this page for a reason. You're ready for a change or, at least, know that there must be something different to experience. That's called HOPE! You could have hope that you don't have to be sad every day, hope that life doesn't have to be scary, hope in a relationship that isn't filled with contention, or hope that you can find your purpose in this world. Whatever your reason is, YOU'VE ALREADY COMPLETED THE FIRST STEP! You are seeking help!

You’re doing your best to hold everything together but it feels like you’re always “on.” You're dealing with heavy pressure to perform in sports, school or your new career. Juggling all of these demands makes it feel like you have no off switch. You lie awake replaying conversations, worrying if you’ve let someone down, or wondering why it seems easier for everyone else while you’re exhausted and still cannot fully rest.

My passion is joining with adolescents, men and couples who have encountered seasons in their life filled with mixed emotions, difficulty trusting, negative outlook, shame and disconnect. Are you exhausted and frustrated in feeling distance, emotional or physical disconnection from your partner/spouse, to the point of feeling alone, unseen, unvalued. Are you craving change but uncertain how to achieve it? Maybe even past relational hurts, addiction or mental health struggles are competing for attention with you and the desire of wanting to fully connect. Are you ready to journey on a new path towards peace, enjoyment and connection?

You may be successful in many areas of life while privately feeling stuck. Unwanted sexual behaviors, pornography, infidelity, anxiety, shame, or relationship struggles can leave you wondering why the same patterns keep returning. I work with adults and couples who want more than simply managing symptoms or trying harder. Whether you're struggling with compulsive behavior, rebuilding trust, or feeling disconnected from yourself or someone you love, therapy can help you understand what is happening beneath the surface and begin creating meaningful change.

I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) who specializes in helping clients heal from stress, trauma, and the lingering effects of overwhelming life experiences. Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach that supports the nervous system in completing survival responses that may have gotten “stuck” during moments of fear, shock, or pain. Instead of focusing only on talking about the past, SE helps you tune into the body’s subtle signals and sensations, creating a pathway for release, regulation, and deep healing.

I believe therapy isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about reconnecting: to yourself, to others, to what matters, and to your life goals. Using transitional approaches and holistic practices, I help individuals, couples, and families—across all ages—who feel stuck in painful emotional cycles, toxic relationships, or overwhelming behaviors. I help clients to identify and express their fears: loss, change, family roles, unfinished conversations. Together, we can uncover what lies beneath the surface, making healing not just possible but sustainable. In that awareness, true healing unfolds.

Sometimes the same patterns keep repeating, the ones you understand but cannot seem to change. Maybe your child is struggling and the whole family feels it. Maybe something from the past keeps showing up in the present, or you are carrying anxiety, grief, or the quiet exhaustion of holding everyone together. Relief can come from a deeper understanding. I work with children, teens, adults, and families who are ready to make sense of what they have been carrying and to feel more grounded and connected, to themselves and to the people they love. I offer therapy in English and Spanish.

My name is pronounced Renee’. Feel free to blame my parents. Since we can't separate ourselves from life's challenges, we better figure out how to face them-in ways that will make you proud of who you've become. Aside from who you choose to live life with, who you receive guidance and advice from is arguably one of the most important decisions you can make. With over 15 years of experience working with clients of all ages and backgrounds, I know both the strengths I can bring to our work together and the areas where I may not be the right fit. I value the time and resources you invest, and I am committed to matching your effort.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
