I believe that most mental health issues such as depression, anxiety , panic attacks, and relationship challenges are rooted in past trauma.
Are you interested in being the best version of yourself? Allow me to come along in your journey. Our work together will involve understanding why you engage in certain behaviors, learning coping skills, and discovering the courage you never knew you had. You will be able to gain confidence and develop more meaningful relationships. This will allow you to achieve the life you thought was possible but didn't know how to achieve.

Do you find yourself taking care of everyone else's needs rather than your own? Do you often feel self-conscious, judge yourself harshly, and worry about making mistakes? Are you struggling with anxiety or insomnia? Many of us had experiences in childhood that made us feel that we weren’t good enough or that we had to be perfect in order to be loved. These beliefs are so ingrained in us that we often aren’t even aware that they exist, but they affect how we see ourselves, how we see the world, and how we relate to others. The good news is that these beliefs CAN be changed.

My clients often come to me because they feel discouraged about resolving the challenges they are facing. Though troubling, depression, anxiety , conflict are often an invitation for us to take the time to focus inward, understand core issues underlying the symptoms, and learn more about our true needs. With this new awareness we may consciously choose new actions that help us develop a more fulfilling future. Through our work clients tell me they enjoy greater self esteem, more confidence that they can create what they want in their lives, and happier, healthier relationships with loved ones.

Our Center helps anyone suffering from unresolved trauma or disturbing experiences. You may be experiencing anxiety , depression, panic attacks, insomnia, hyper-vigilance, restlessness, rage, exhaustion, fatigue, or dissociation. We exist to alleviate the profound suffering of those who have been traumatized in childhood or adulthood. Trauma is often not healed from talk therapy alone. We use cutting edge trauma modalities that access your primitive brain where trauma is stored. Through this, you will release the trauma and all of the physical issues that go along with it, and graduate with a freedom you have never known.

Do you ever feel like simple day to day tasks are more difficult to complete? Maybe you were more social, but now, it feels more comfortable or easier to stay to yourself? Was there a time when you were able to organize your thoughts and feel in control of your emotions, but now you've noticed it's too overwhelming and you feel powerless over your emotions? Have others noticed these changes? These may all be symptoms related to anxiety and depression, but they can also be signs related to trauma. We often think of trauma as single events like an accident or loss of a loved one, or life transitions.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
