I have worked extensively with Veterans & military members, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I tend to incorporate more traditional forms of psychotherapy with meditation, body movement, yoga, and breathwork. My primary focus is to help my client's grow through their trauma, grief, and stress while becoming more resilient and confident in their ability to manage, work through, and resolve the emotions, symptoms, and memories that get in the way of thriving in the present moment. I worked at Utah State, University of San Diego, San Diego State, and University of California San Diego before starting my own private practice.

Do you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or not quite like yourself? Maybe you’ve tried therapy before and didn’t get what you needed, or maybe this is your first time reaching out. You might notice feeling on edge, easily triggered, having trouble sleeping, or feeling disconnected from the people and life around you. Sometimes these experiences are connected to past events or ongoing stress that your mind and body haven’t fully had the chance to process. Together, we work to gently understand what’s coming up, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and help you feel more grounded, present, and in control.

Many of my clients seek EMDR specifically because they are looking for a deeper, more effective approach to healing and personal growth. EMDR is often chosen by individuals who are ready to move beyond insight alone and actively process the experiences that continue to shape their lives. For clients committed to meaningful transformation, EMDR offers a powerful pathway toward healing that is both evidence-based and results-oriented.

I empower individuals with tools to navigate life transitions such as marriage, divorce, military life, raising children, career changes, loss of roles or employment, empty nest, menopause, and other significant shifts in life. Together, at a pace that feels comfortable for you, we will explore your next chapter with compassion, encouragement, and hope. My approach is unique because I believe each person inherently knows what is best for them. Often, what we need most is a safe space to process our experiences, discover our voice, and explore a path toward peace, purpose, and forward movement.

I specialize in working with first responders, law enforcement, and federal employees and provide individual and family treatment. I am an informed, experienced therapist in active-duty military and veteran cultures. I work best with clients who are ready to take an active role in their treatment and are receptive to interventions that require work both in and outside of the therapy room. I see myself more as a skilled "coach" who will assist you in developing the skills necessary to be your own therapist. You will find that I bring myself into the room and that I use creativity and humor to tackle your treatment goals.

On paper, your life looks great: the career, the family, the achievements. But inside, you're worn out and battling a constant inner struggle. Life feels hard, and gratitude seems just beyond reach. Intrusive thoughts like 'what if...' linger, as do compulsive routines like endless phone scrolling. Physical symptoms such as IBS, migraines, or chronic fatigue seem to come and go without reason. You procrastinate on important things and beat yourself up. Even self-care becomes another pressure point. You're concerned about being too emotional or not caring enough. Ultimately, you yearn to stop chasing approval and find peace.

I tailor treatment with a trauma-informed lens, drawing from evidence-based approaches including EMDR, somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), ACT, and mindfulness practices.
Something shifted or continues to feel stuck — in your relationship, your sense of self, or the way you move through the world — and the strategies that once kept you going aren't working anymore. Maybe you're a couple caught in the same argument on repeat, unable to find your way back to each other. Maybe you're a new parent struggling through postpartum fog that nobody warned you about, struggling with your identity, or someone who has served their country and is still carrying what they brought home. Wherever you are, this is not a sign that something is wrong with you. These are the moments I do my best work.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
