I am a strength based holistic integrative therapist. I specialize in assisting people realize their full potential far past any diagnosis they have ever been given or heard from a provider in the past. My ideal client is someone who is ready to move past their own limits and are looking for deeper meaning within their own psychology. I work well with motivated clients who have experienced trauma, anxiety and/or are depressed and looking for someone to assist in helping them in believing they can become more than their past and their suffering. It is often when we feel the most overwhelmed __ when we have "tried everything we know" to feel better, to make changes, to break out of bad habits or unhelpful behavior patterns __ that we find ourselves the most open to growth and change. I enjoy working with teens and adults who is looking for relief from trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief. Many of these stressors can lead to a crisis, substance abuse, and thoughts of suicide. Wanting to find relief from these struggles can be daunting, yet it is possible. I believe that each individual needs to be considered as a whole and the therapy process should be tailored to their individual needs and personal circumstances.

I have been practicing in the field going on 5 years now and have experience working with children, teens, families, and adults. I specialize in anxiety, depression, adjustment/life transitions, trauma, and grief/loss. Clients can expect a warm, friendly therapist who is eager to get to know them and initially understand what brings them to therapy at this time.

You’re finding it more and more difficult to hold it all together. After pushing down your emotions and "going along with things" for so long, there is all of a sudden very little space to hold anything else. It’s hard to concentrate, you’re irritable, your body aches. There are times when you feel you could jump out of your skin from the racing thoughts, and there are times where you want to crawl under a rock to escape the overwhelm. What has always worked in the past is not even touching these feelings.

Different seasons of life reveal different needs, hopes, and concerns in each of us. What worked for us as children or young adults may not fit as well in a different season, yet many of us find it hard to make the internal shifts to find something that fits better. We can get stuck, internally or externally, and experience stress and discontent as a result. I have provided individual, couple and family therapy to the community for 25 years and strongly believe that healing and growth is possible. Particular specialties include couple and family therapy including LGBT, anxiety, addiction, grief, and trauma. I utilize both traditional therapy and EMDR (for trauma). We all have past hurts and traumas. Until healed these impact our current relationships and EMDR is a quicker treatment with lasting results.
