Therefore, I view my role as a therapist to serve as an assistant to these natural inclinations, and empower clients in removing barriers to a full-filling and value congruent life. Using my training in depth- and somatic-oriented psychotherapy, I will help you make contact with your natural, real self as well as the conscious and unconscious ways that you keep yourself from living fully.

Many times the journey of counseling is initiated by a life crisis, when one's resources have been exhausted and it is time to gather more tools for life's tool box. It is an act of strength to reach out, not a weakness. My diverse counseling career has prepared me to work effectively with people from various walks of life. I am not a fixer, I see myself as a facilitator of change. One of my main goals as a therapist is to teach people skills needed to increase feelings of independence and empowerment.

I am fluent in American Sign Language and all ages are welcome. Due to nine years working at Loma Linda BMC, I am able to help a variety of psychological issues conflicting clients. I have 30 years of experience in the field of mental health and enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I focus on crisis intervention, mediation, relational issues and coping strategies. I am strength-based and trauma informed in my clinical work and am committed to creating a positive and supportive therapeutic alliance. I believe that building a trusting and supportive relationship is an essential component for healing. I practice in an engaged and relational way, asking questions and offering feedback. I honor personal sovereignty and intend to guide you toward your own solutions with compassion.

My practice is relationship focused. I particularly enjoy working with couples and have found that if couples are willing to put the work in, great strides can be made towards healing and connection. I have completed two levels toward certification in the Gottman method of couples therapy and have also done training in the Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples. In my work with couples and individuals, I incorporate mindfulness-based therapy.

As a queer transgender, nonbinary individual with a non-traditional spiritual practice and collaborative approach to my therapy, I know that finding the right therapist is important.
