I'd say my upbringing inspired me from my home to school. I have seen and heard mental health being mentioned as important and encouraged to take care of. I'd say full circle of having gone to therapy, becoming a therapist, and providing therapy is rewarding in itself, I'd have to put a paragraph explaining why, so I'll leave it as that. I look at therapy as a unique relationship that both mirrors and overlaps qualities of a good friend, parent, sibling, partner, etc., where both the therapist and client focus on tackling the concerns he/she presents in therapy.

For more than 30 years, I've worked with people at every stage of healing: those carrying wounds from childhood they've never named, those who have built successful lives yet still feel something is missing, people struggling with the ravages of addiction, and others who simply know life isn't working the way they'd hoped. I understand emotional pain—and I understand the path through it. I work with individuals seeking real, meaningful, and lasting change. I've spent my career helping people discover not only why they struggle, but how lasting change becomes possible through honesty, insight, accountability, and purposeful action.

I am Rev. Dr. Monika Maria Grace and I welcome you to my page! In our first session together, I also welcome you to my real or virtual office and I invite you to make it your own safe space. I explain that therapy is a process, a relationship, and an adventure. It's also a gift of discovery and renewal that only you can give to yourself, especially in our challenging days. In this process, my role is to listen, to support, to challenge, to guide, and to celebrate you as you are becoming more courageous to face the parts of yourself you were avoiding, more accepting of yourself and of others, and fully present in your life.

You are noticing an increase in your child’s anxious thinking and worrying. They are overwhelmed, and their emotional reactions are bigger than you’re used to. School avoidance has increased despite being bright and capable. Their ability to remain focused or motivated has decreased, and as a parent, you're at a point that feels uncertain. If this feels familiar and you're not sure what to do next, you're not alone. I help kids, teens and parents manage anxiety, ADHD, and big feelings in ways that actually work. For younger kids, I offer a unique, interactive virtual play therapy space as well as in-person play therapy in Escondido.

I offer trauma-informed, strengths-based therapy for children, teens, adults, and families facing anxiety, trauma, school stress, and life transitions.
I often work with individuals who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in patterns shaped by past experiences, or uncertain during life transitions. They may be a child struggling at school, a teen navigating identity and relationships, or an adult longing for deeper healing. They want to feel seen, supported, and safe—to understand themselves more fully and reconnect with their sense of strength and possibility. They’re seeking not just symptom relief, but lasting change, guided by compassion, consistency, and the belief that growth is possible—even in the messiest seasons of life.

I see therapy as a self-discovery process, in which a client seeks to solve problems in a safe and positive environment under the guidance of a professional. I believe that anxiety, depression and negative stress can be resolved more effectively, when there is understanding that basic steps must be taken to first stabilize one's life then one's passion and purpose in life can be addressed to find self-fulfillment. I especially enjoy working with adolescents and adults of all ages, who are in the midst of life transitions.

I have over 15 years specializing in helping children, adolescents and adults work through trauma.
Parenthood can be blissful and full of love. It can be an immediate bond and bring families together. It can also be scary, traumatic and isolating. Every journey from trying to conceive, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum parenthood has a story. I support individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, are overstimulated, or stuck in reactive cycles. You do not have to suffer in silence. You are not alone.
