I am passionate about empowering individuals to thrive in life. Therapy is essential for uncovering and understanding self-destructive behaviors and working through, not around, loss and grief. I work with adults and teens, specializing in trauma, divorce, anxiety, depression, disordered eating, broken relationships, life transitions and identity. Therapy can be overwhelming at first, therefore, I provide a safe and trusting environment to uncover and explore new and healthier approaches to life.

Hello high achiever, nothing has stood in the way of reaching your goals. Yet here you are feeling lost, uncertain of which direction to go. Somewhere along the road of success, you made some bad decisions, began to sacrifice your dreams and traded your confidence for shame. Everyone’s needs come first; job, husband, kids and you are last on the list. You feel exhausted, burned out and the self doubt has become a deep well that feels inescapable. And that’s painful. You’re in a moment to make a big change, you feel the weight of it, and it’s scary. Finding courage to move feels hard and you just want some guidance.

Tired of feeling burned out? I am an expert in treating anxiety, trauma, addictions, sleep problems, but also qualified to evaluate a range of commonly co-occurring mental health conditions like depression. I do more than just talk therapy! At every visit, I teach evidenced-based skills that have been rigorously tested. I have developed a consultation style to therapy based on my experiences as a psychologist integrated in medical teams. This style allows me to consider treatment from multiple perspectives and this generally leads to earlier improvement, fewer overall visits, faster feedback and treatment.

If you’re feeling constantly anxious, overwhelmed, and burned out—struggling to keep up with the demands of work and family—you’re not alone. You may look like you have it together on the outside, but inside your mind won’t slow down, and it’s starting to take a toll.Maybe lately you’ve found yourself crying in the car before heading home or sitting in silence just trying to catch your breath after a long day. You’re constantly overwhelmed, your mind won’t slow down, and it feels harder and harder to focus. You’re always “on edge,” like something might go wrong at any moment. And still—you keep showing up for everyone else.

Delectable Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Life can be really tough sometimes and has been for a lot of people lately. Between the stress of a pandemic which has come with a lot of health concerns, job stress, and financial issues, and then there is still the rest of life and its stressors to deal with on top of that. At this point, no one is immune to mental distress, and no one should feel like they can’t, shouldn’t, or aren’t worthy of having someone to help them through it. I can and want to be there for you in this way.

Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, but it’s also an act of courage and self-care.
Hi, I’m Cameron. I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Soul Tide Psychotherapy with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. I’m passionate about creating a supportive space where you can feel safe to be yourself and explore whatever you’re going through. Before becoming a licensed associate therapist, I worked as a student therapist, providing talk therapy and neurofeedback. This role helped me develop a flexible approach that supports wellbeing from a holistic perspective. I believe real growth happens in relationships where we feel accepted, understood, and free to show up as ourselves.

I work to identify specific issues which can be addressed by techniques from schools of thought such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
My intention is for clients to gain greater self- acceptance plus psychological tools, attitudes, and insights that can help them achieve what they seek. They also can expect to be accepted for who they are, without judgment.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
