I take time to know my clients in the total context of their lives because people are more than their symptoms. I build comfortable and in-depth professional relationships with trust and good listening. I give effective feedback and stay very focused on what matters. The actual " work" is many things at once: it's co-investigating, being curious about beliefs, patterns of thinking and behaving, clarifying personal values, and the courage to practice new skills and ways of being. I provide direct, accurate guidance to help clients take these steps. Our human capacities to reflect and create change are awe inspiring.

Therapy is about exploring transitions and losses. A loss of a relationship, a job, a lifestyle, a home, a friendship, or the loss of a dream or expectation. We dismiss some losses, not realizing their impact on our day to day life. We may suffer from anxiety or depression without understanding why they are present. Other losses, however, can be so traumatic that we lose our ability to heal from them. Moreover, we find ourselves repeating the same mistakes, not being able to transform ourselves and change our behavior, even when we realize that our reactions are unhelpful and self-destructive. We wonder whether life will be better.

Let’s face it: life can get hard. Whether you feel weighed down by stress, dating or your relationship or an unexpected life event, there is help and there is hope. You know that there must be more to life than the pressure you're experiencing but you’re not sure what that looks like for you or perhaps how to even get there. You want support not just in improving how you’re feeling right now, but also in identifying and healing the source of what’s brought you to this place. I specialize in helping adults navigate the dating world, relationships, friendships, and family conflict.

I specialize in COUPLES THERAPY, I am pro relationship, and love my work. So if you're feeling like you’re struggling in your relationship and it’s time to make a change, you’ve come to the right place. I’ll help you talk about the problems that have brought you to therapy, issues you argue about that keep coming up and never get resolved, topics you’ve avoided and have been afraid of discussing, or anything that is important to you. We’ll explore how the stress of these problems has affected you individually and as a couple, and we’ll craft solutions to reduce conflict and increase respect, love, and a sense of partnership.

You have to feel better to get better. That may seem obvious, but it really isn't. When I begin to work with a new patient, I have two immediate goals: To get to know this person so we can determine if we're a good match; and if we are, to use my years of experience and skills to target current areas of damage and hurt. People come to therapy in pain — something or many things in their lives aren't working. Our job is to take a breath, appreciate your unique situation, understand when and how current problem(s) became unmanageable or toxic, and then find ways to feel better, more hopeful and clear about how to proceed back to life.

I believe childhood experiences create the template for adult life. Early losses, separations and trauma define the choices of strategies or defenses we use as adults. Pain and suffering can be caused by these early experiences. It is my job as a therapist to join my clients in their journey of discovery of these templates and help them to gain a more fulfilled life. I provide individual, couples and family counseling services in both English and Spanish in a safe, comfortable environment. My approach is tailored to each client, to meet them on their journey of discovery to finding a more fulfilled life.

An ideal client is someone who is ready to do the work and be honest. If I can establish a rapport with someone and the client/s are open and honest our journey begins. I have great retention with patients because they have had recognizable change while working with me. Whether it is self-awareness, confidence, or better understanding of themselves and how they relate to others (the list goes on) they are feeling growth and development.

I believe that all people have an innate ability and desire for growth. Some of us just need that someone that they can talk to. Most of us think we are strong enough to be able to work it out on our own. Unfortunately, that is not always true. We tend to be our own worst enemy. Sometimes, a different perspective is all it takes. Many of us live life in accordance to our "belief system". If we carry a negative self view or the world, how can we expect to live life to it's fullest. We are working to heal our inner child through self-compassion, understanding, non-judgement and validation of self and others.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists
Narcissists cut a wide, swashbuckling figure through the world. At one end of the self-loving spectrum is the charismatic leader with an excess of charm, at the other end reside individuals with narcissistic personality disorder, whose grandiosity soars to such heights that they are manipulative and easily angered, especially when they don't receive the attention they consider their birthright. Narcissism involves cockiness, manipulativeness, selfishness, power motives, and vanity-a love of self...and mirrors. Narcissistic mothers or narcissistic daughters are a common discussion in therapy, although beware of the temptation to use the label because we all have a sense of ego. Personality traits related to narcissism include: Psychopathy, and Machiavellianism.
