We are passionate about the field of mindbody medicine, and committed to changing the way that chronic pain , anxiety, and depression are traditionally treated and understood. Our psychotherapists and chronic pain coaches offer virtual support to clients across the United States and beyond. Our aim is not to manage chronic symptoms, but rather to significantly improve or relieve them through accurate pain education and evidence-based techniques. Our psychotherapists and chronic pain coaches are informed by and/or involved in cutting-edge research that informs a new understanding on mindbody syndromes and their treatments.

Life can be challenging, that's for sure! I understand how emotional pain can manifest as depression, anxiety, withdrawal in intimate relationships, addiction, to name just a few. Finding meaning within that struggle can help transform how we hold onto that experience. I will engage with you on this journey, helping you to develop a more compassionate relationship within yourself. Creating a more positive inner life can impact your outer world - in relationships, parenting, work, and self expression.

THERE IS A BETTER WAY... Are you living with anxiety, depression, fear, guilt, or shame? Do you feel hopeless at times? You've probably heard " pain is unavoidable, but suffering is optional." We suffer because our mind makes up a story about the painful emotion and keeps it going rather than letting it pass. Through a combination of traditional psychotherapy and hypnosis, I can help you become aware of what's not working, and together, we can create new habits and ways to deal with pain and experience relief. Are you ready to feel more comfortable, secure, loved, and accepted?

I specialize in issues related to grief and loss, living with chronic or life-limiting illness , caregiving, depression, anxiety, and the daily stress or challenges encountered as people progress through key life transitions.
In times of personal crisis, it is natural to feel overwhelmed, alone, and disconnected from friends, family, and even yourself. When your usual strategies for "snapping out of it" are no longer working, you may feel stuck, irritable, fatigued, or generally disinterested in activities that would normally bring pleasure or meaning to your life. Ironically, it is often during your most vulnerable times that you also have the greatest capacity for healing and renewal. I believe in the resilience of the human spirit and the capacity for positive change - even in the darkest of times.

I believe childhood experiences create the template for adult life. Early losses, separations and trauma define the choices of strategies or defenses we use as adults. Pain and suffering can be caused by these early experiences. It is my job as a therapist to join my clients in their journey of discovery of these templates and help them to gain a more fulfilled life. I provide individual, couples and family counseling services in both English and Spanish in a safe, comfortable environment. My approach is tailored to each client, to meet them on their journey of discovery to finding a more fulfilled life.

And yet this pain and frustration in relationships, at work and towards ourselves can heal.
Therapy is about exploring transitions and losses. A loss of a relationship, a job, a lifestyle, a home, a friendship, or the loss of a dream or expectation. We dismiss some losses, not realizing their impact on our day to day life. We may suffer from anxiety or depression without understanding why they are present. Other losses, however, can be so traumatic that we lose our ability to heal from them. Moreover, we find ourselves repeating the same mistakes, not being able to transform ourselves and change our behavior, even when we realize that our reactions are unhelpful and self-destructive. We wonder whether life will be better.

Everyone can enjoy a satisfying life of love, work and play. However, we may find ourselves in personal patterns, relationships, or with life issues that keep us from living to our fullest. Though circumstances and illness are difficult, our manner of dealing with them determines whether we are happy or sad, engaged or depressed, relaxed or anxious, and even feeling physically unwell or healthy. Trauma and poor coping are often related to our past desperate attempts to take care of ourselves in difficult situations. Through a passionate, humor-filled, authentic journey we can seek to understand and change your life.
