Could it be related to neurodivergence (ND)?
My work in schools has helped me connect with children & teens while understanding their perspectives and supporting their well-being. I also have experience working with abuse and control, offering nonjudgmental psychoeducation and practical strategies to build self-awareness, improve communication, and navigate relationship and/or legal challenges.

You’re used to being the self-sufficient one, the people-pleaser who doesn’t want to be a problem. Then celiac disease, an autoimmune condition, or chronic illness changed the rules. Now anxiety can show up around food, restaurants, travel, and social gatherings. There’s the fear of being glutened, having to advocate for yourself, or being dismissed or gaslit about your health. These repeated “micro-traumas” can add up, especially when you’re already used to putting everyone else’s needs first. You may look like you have it all together on the outside while inside, you’re exhausted from always being on alert.

My clients are those with a vision — artists, musicians, writers, filmmakers, dancers, entrepreneurs, teachers, conscious parents, and spiritual seekers — and those who've always quietly suspected they might be. They feel the full weight and beauty of life and are hungry to meet it more completely. What brings them here rarely fits a clinical label — more often it's a felt sense: something held back, a creative vision that won't emerge, a capacity for love just out of reach. Sometimes it surfaces as anxiety, depression, or addiction. Together, we find and move what's in the way.

Sometimes it takes a point-of-view outside your circle to see things differently, more clearly, or with different ideas of how to make change happen. My clients come in seeking guidance on how to do life better - how to communicate, or how to understand their value & purpose in the world or just at home. New insight, new tools, support & encouragement can make all the difference when you take the necessary step to care for yourself and ultimately, give your relationships the very best you.

Are you struggling to find the right therapist? Let me help. The key is finding someone you feel comfortable with, but how to know in advance? Reading profiles can help you get a feel for the therapist. I am a tools therapist, not a talk therapist. I listen with openness and compassion, then teach you how to shift patterns in your brain, body, and relationships. Using evidence-based approaches, I help you reduce anxiety, heal trauma, optimize communication, and restore balance. As a trauma-informed, neurobiology-based therapist, I work with individuals, couples, children, and families ready for real transformation.

You may be a late-diagnosed or self-diagnosed neurodivergent adult—autistic, ADHD, or both—who functions well on the surface but feels chronically exhausted beneath it.
Typically, my clients are resourceful, insightful, and self-aware, yet struggle with executive functioning, emotional overload, decision fatigue, or consistency. A late diagnosis can bring relief alongside grief or confusion. I take a collaborative approach to reduce burnout and masking exhaustion, to build stability, autonomy, and self-trust.

In liminal spaces such as therapy rooms, exploration can include questioning the less examined, and a noticing of how our experience is being impacted by forces and beliefs that keep us doubting and in distress. In pausing, gathering and contemplating as if around a fire, possibilities emerge. How do you really want to respond in this moment or the next? What forces and practices make this journey painful, and what leads you to a state of wonder and feeling most alive?

As a psychotherapist, I use a holistic approach that blends clinical research with Eastern wisdom. I have trained extensively for a decade with renowned Psychiatrist, Dr. Jeffery M. Schwartz in his Four Step Method, which combines Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy with the Buddhist principle of Mindfulness. Although, the Four Steps was originally created to treat OCD, my recent collaboration in the advancement of the Four Steps has shown that it is also successful for various circumstances including anxiety, depression, phobias, addiction, and eating disorders. My work is highlighted in Dr. Jeffrey M. Schwartz's new book, "You Are Not Your Brain".

FAQ - Neurodivergent Counselling
What does neurodivergent mean?
Neurodivergent is a broad term used to describe people whose brains process, learn, or respond to information in ways that differ from what is considered “typical.” Neurodivergence can include autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, Tourette syndrome, and other forms of neurological difference. The term comes from the idea of neurodiversity, which recognizes that differences in brain function are a natural part of human variation. Rather than viewing neurodivergence only through the lens of neurological disorders, this perspective acknowledges that neurodivergent people may experience both strengths and challenges. For example, a person may be very creative and intelligent, while also needing support with sensory sensitivity or learning differences.

What issues do neurodivergent people commonly bring to therapy?
Neurodivergent people often seek therapy for many of the same reasons as anyone else, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, or major life transitions. They may also want support with challenges specifically related to neurodivergence; for example, therapy may help with executive functioning, social communication, sensory sensitivity, school/learning stress, or the experience of feeling misunderstood in society. Therapists can also help individuals and families diagnose conditions, as well as distinguish regular challenges associated with childhood and/or adolescence from more enduring conditions. When needed, a therapist may also provide referrals to additional specialists, such as occupational therapists or psychiatrists who can prescribe psychiatric medication.

What therapeutic approaches work well for neurodivergent clients?
Therapy for neurodivergent clients is often most helpful when it is flexible and affirming. Rather than expecting every client to fit one standard model of therapy, neurodivergent-affirming therapists may adapt sessions to each person’s needs and therapy goals. Often, this includes visual aids, movement breaks, or other therapy supports. Common structured therapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can be useful for some neurodivergent clients, but the approach may need to be modified to avoid feeling overly rigid or focused on changing traits that are part of a person’s natural neurodivergence. Other approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches, may also be helpful depending on the client’s needs.

Who is included in Psychology Today's directory of neurodivergent therapists?
Psychology Today’s directory of neurodivergent therapists includes professionals who self-identify as neurodivergent, as well as therapists who describe their work as neurodivergent-affirming or who specialize in areas such as ADHD, autism, learning differences, or sensory processing concerns. When reviewing a therapist’s profile, look at their bio, listed specialties, treatment approach, and experience working with neurodivergent clients. You may also want to consider whether they offer supports that matter to you, such as online therapy, accessible office space, or familiarity with specific concerns like anxiety, depression, or trauma.
