I'm a therapist with an MSW from Columbia University and a B.A. in psychology, with over 2 decades of training and experience. I work in a wonderful group practice, and I help women and men with issues including relationship stress, life transitions, self-esteem, and career struggles. I support high-achieving people, often with ADHD traits or a creative mindset, who are struggling with their relationships at home and work. I also have a speciality with women in midlife who are dealing with a difficult partner or starting a new phase, such as post-divorce, remarriage or career change.

Life is complex and it's often hard to handle the situations that come up each day or resurface over longer periods of time. Whether figuring out what to do about challenging children, issues in a close relationship, or which way to go as you move forward in life, uncertainties can stop anyone in their tracks. Few things are worse than feeling stuck and struggling when it seems like everyone else has it all figured out. It doesn't have to be that way. Things change, if we're watching we find opportunities to heal, learn, and grow.

My philosophy of therapy is holistic, meaning that I believe people are made up of many parts: body, soul (mind, emotions, will), and spirit. These parts must function in a balanced relationship in order for us to thrive. How we feel about ourselves and how we view the world affects the quality of our relationships. When we can balance a positive identity with our role in the world while also remaining connected to others, we feel whole. Brokenness can occur if any of these relationships are out of balance. In therapy, I help my clients assess the lack of balance so they can figure out how to get whole again.

I work with adults who feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or disconnected from themselves. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but internally struggling with stress, self-doubt, relationship challenges, or a sense that something just isn’t quite right. They may be navigating life transitions, burnout, or patterns that no longer serve them, and they’re ready for deeper, more meaningful change. Additionally, I work with couples, using Gottman principles, attachment theory, and EFT to help partners improve communication, release resentments, rebuild trust, and improve intimacy.

Do you feel like a misunderstood weirdo, even though you might look normal? I’ve got your back. Feel cramped by societal expectations and want to find the freedom and empowerment to be fully yourself? Step into my (virtual) office. I want to work with you if you are on the precipice of change, or in the throes of shedding the skin of your former self. I want to work with you if, somewhere in there, you suspect that these times are the ones that hone our edges, define who we are and are not, and allow us to emerge from the ashes more empowered, brighter, stronger, and more fully in ownership of our truth.

Couples tell me their relationship started strong but is now full of conflict and distance. As a Certified Gottman Therapist, I help you find your way back. They are not sure the relationship can still work, but are willing to give counseling a try and don’t know what else to do.

I believe that effective therapy does not necessarily have to be difficult, painful or long-term. I specialize in Collaborative, Narrative and Solution-Focused approaches to help clients overcome challenges and create solutions and change. I see individuals as truly heroic, struggling against problems rather than "having" or "being" the problem. This can allow your inherent knowledge, strengths and resources to emerge, opening new possibilities for change and growth.

Now accepting new clients! My ideal client is a person who feels stuck—whether in a difficult relationship, a season of anxiety and depression, or as someone navigating the impact of past trauma. They might be grappling with emotional wounds from childhood or facing the challenges of being in or leaving a destructive relationship. What they deeply desire is to feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their life. They want to heal from the pain that has kept them stuck and to rediscover their own strength and worth.

On the road of life, we may find that our dreams and aspirations for living have been derailed, slowed, or halted by challenges like traumatic events, troubled relationships, illness, loss, unwanted thoughts, or difficulties with our mood. These challenges are the bumps on our road, but the feelings of isolation, grief, sadness, fear, guilt or shame that often follow can feel like unyielding roadblocks. In times like these, we need a supportive ally—someone who offers safety, warmth, and understanding.

Some of my areas of expertise include: anxiety, ADHD, OCD, depression, trauma, family dynamics, life transitions, marital issues, divorce, and co-parenting.
Working through difficult experiences and emotions can be challenging. It can be even harder to make desired changes in ones life when certain patterns have been established for so long. I work hard to ensure that my clients feel safe and supported throughout this process. By creating a comfortable and lighthearted environment, individuals, families, and couples are able to gain some reprieve from the difficulties they are experiencing. This allows change to begin to occur in the lives of my clients.

FAQ - Co-Parenting Counseling
What happens in co-parenting counseling?
Co-parenting usually refers to the shared responsibility of raising a child after parents separate or divorce. Even when both parents want what is best for their child, co-parenting can bring stress, conflict, and major adjustment for the whole family. In co-parenting counseling, a therapist helps parents work through these challenges. Common topics in co-parenting counseling include communication difficulties, parenting differences, and their child’s well-being. In many cases, co-parents attend counseling sessions together, allowing the counselor to help them practice communication and problem-solving in “real-time”. Depending on the situation, one or both parents may also meet individually with the therapist before or during the counseling process.

How do I know if co-parenting counseling is right for our situation?
In most cases, co-parenting counseling is voluntarily sought by parents; however, it may also be court-ordered in certain family law cases. When counseling is not required, there is no single sign that a family “needs” it. Some parents begin counseling early to help everyone adjust to new roles, routines, and expectations before any more significant conflict emerges. Counseling may be especially helpful, however, when parents are dealing with ongoing communication problems, repeated disagreements about parenting decisions, or difficulty helping a child adjust between homes. If the same issues keep coming up despite your efforts to resolve them, co-parenting counseling can offer a more structured and supportive way to move forward.

Do both parents have to agree to attend co-parenting counseling?
If co-parenting counseling is court-ordered, it may be required that both parents attend counseling for an allotted amount of time. However, for those voluntarily seeking co-parenting counseling, it is up to you and your counselor to decide who will attend sessions. Many therapists encourage both parents to attend sessions, but if one parent is particularly reluctant, unavailable, or if there are safety concerns, one parent may choose to attend counseling on their own. Individual support can still help a parent improve their own communication skills, set boundaries, and respond to co-parenting challenges more effectively.

How do I bring up co-parenting counseling to a reluctant co-parent?
It can help to frame co-parenting counseling around your child’s well-being, rather than blame or criticism toward the co-parent. For example, you might say that you want to create more consistency for the child across households or help the child navigate school challenges in a more effective way. Timing also matters when bringing up the topic of counseling. It is usually best not to raise the idea during an argument or moment of high tension. Instead, choose a calm time, and offer the other parent a say in choosing the therapist, scheduling sessions, or deciding what goals to focus on in sessions.
