Welcome! I take a lifespan developmental approach with my clients, particularly through promoting self-compassion, encouraging the discovery of personal resilience, and helping work through challenges on the pathways of life. My integrative approach is primarily informed by helping the development of insight and accumulation of practical skills for symptom reduction that takes into account the cultural and familial context of your life. Additionally, I also focus my practice on providing psychological assessment/testing for ADHD and learning disabilities, as well as personality and cognitive functioning. I have a broad clinical background but have worked the most with trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, other mood disorders, adult ADHD , and adjustment concerns.
I work with adults throughout their entire lifespan, ranging from young adults to older adults. I have an informal and energetic approach to therapy, which encourages active collaboration in both treatment planning and therapeutic execution. I like to think of myself as a guide, providing you with new skill as well as a responsive source of objective feedback on how these skills are impacting your overall functioning. I'm just as human as you are and expect to engage in a collaborative process where you find yourself able to open up and give me feedback just as easily as I share feedback and skills with you.

It is a helpless feeling when your child is struggling and you don't know how to help them. This pandemic has created a totally new and unexplored environment for our children. I am here to help both you and your child through this difficult time. I work solely with children from birth to 17 years old. I meet my clients where they are by creating a safe and fun space for them so that they feel comfortable talking about tough subjects and facilitating change. I believe that in working with children you must also incorporate their family and I encourage family involvement in all of my treatments.

Some of my areas of expertise include: anxiety, ADHD , OCD, depression, trauma, family dynamics, life transitions, marital issues, divorce, and co-parenting.
Working through difficult experiences and emotions can be challenging. It can be even harder to make desired changes in ones life when certain patterns have been established for so long. I work hard to ensure that my clients feel safe and supported throughout this process. By creating a comfortable and lighthearted environment, individuals, families, and couples are able to gain some reprieve from the difficulties they are experiencing. This allows change to begin to occur in the lives of my clients.

ADHD Therapists
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.

If you're looking for an Encinitas ADHD therapist, these professionals provide ADHD therapy and counseling in Encinitas.
