Does mental health live inside the brain? Or even inside the human body? What happens to our sense of well-being when we can’t to see a way forward for humanity? Or when we spend half of our lives struggling to earn an income doing something we dislike? How different might we feel if we found ourselves actively co-creating the kind of world we want to live in? And how do we truly work together toward the co-creation of a more beautiful world? How do we take full responsibility for our failures, and the impact of those failures on those we love? What does it take to construct a narrative that empowers? Who and what can we trust?

A number of challenges bring people to therapy. Sometimes it’s simply the desire to feel better. Some clients are looking more from their relationships, their lives, and themselves. Others struggle to deal with or accept circumstances or changes they didn’t want. I specialize in helping people who are unsatisfied with their relationships, whether by continuing to repeat the same unsatisfying patterns or struggling to find a relationship. I also work with those who use food, drugs, alcohol, or other stimuli to numb themselves to difficult feelings. I also help anyone who needs support to manage a life transition.

With a decade of experience, I am trained in traditional talk therapy and expressive art therapies.
I believe that the capacity to thrive lives in your hands, heart, and imagination. As your therapist, I will work with you to uncover your own inherent wisdom. With your wise self in the room, we can explore how parts of you may feel lost or left out. As your wise self learns to take up more space in your life, you may come to realize that the painful parts of you are just that: a part of you, and that your life is not defined by these parts. I will help you to realize that you are indeed amazing, capable, and loved.

Drawing on art therapy, cognitive approaches, and practical coaching, we'll work in a way that fits your brain — not a one-size-fits-all model.
Therapy for the high-achieving mind that won't slow down. You're accomplished, self-aware, and still stuck. Maybe you've tried therapy before and found it too passive. Maybe insight has come easily, but change hasn't. I specialize in working with high-achieving adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, and life transitions — people who are holding it together, often really well, but feel like they're working harder than they should have to, or that something just isn't clicking the way they know it could.

My holistic methodology is compassionate and focused on the individual, integrating mindfulness, somatic practices, and expressive techniques (Masters in Art Therapy).
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and mindfulness practitioner, I offer a warm, person-centered approach. Together, we explore how early experiences shape beliefs, emotions, and patterns that can continue into adulthood and influence the implicit behaviors we carry forward.

My ideal clients are children, teens, and adults who feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck in unhelpful patterns. Children may struggle with big emotions, anxiety, or behavioral challenges. Teens often face identity stress, depression, or social pressures. Adults may carry unresolved trauma, perfectionism, or relationship difficulties rooted in early experiences. They want insight into their reactions, practical tools to manage emotions, and lasting change. Most of all, they want a safe space where they feel seen, understood, and supported.

I support individuals navigating grief, loss, major life transitions, aging, dementia (self or a loved one), end-of-life concerns, and the challenges of “adulting.” I support queer individuals and men (of all sexualities and gender expressions) seeking more authentic lives beyond inherited cultural expectations. I aim to offer a grounded presence and try to create a space for honest reflection and vulnerability. As a dancer, I bring a somatic body-focused lens to our sessions and integrate drama therapy techniques to help interrupt stuck patterns. We work to reconnect with the wisdom of your body and deeper wisdom.

Art Therapy
How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
