I work with intelligent motivated clients who are functioning relatively well in their lives but may feel stuck in certain areas. Whether it’s a relationship, career, health issue, life transition or some other emotional or mental roadblock that has you feeling like you’re not functioning at your best, we can get down to the root of it, get clear on direction, move through it and move forward. Depending upon your needs and desires, we can also address health issues simultaneously. This is an additional optional opportunity to have another perspective in addition to other health professionals with whom you may be working.

By integrating mindfulness, present body awareness, and EMDR, I work with clients to develop tools and strategies to navigate their internal and external worlds with greater ease and resilience.
My holistic approach to therapy emerged out of my passion for health and my connection to nature. While I combine several modalities in my practice, at the heart of my work is empathy and authenticity. I believe in working together to help resolve the challenges or circumstances with which you are currently facing so that you may develop an enhanced relationship with yourself and those around you.

We focus on mindfulness, attachment theory, and nervous system regulation.
Somatic therapy is one of the best therapies available to heal past traumas and build real resilience to face the stressors ahead. If you feel like you just woke up in the middle of a dumpster fire, you're not alone. The world is overwhelming right now, and keeping it together might feel like a full time job. How do you make sense of the current political climate while also keeping your day-to-day life and responsibilities in check? Maybe you're struggling with challenging relationships, a recent life transition, or wanting to address old wounds that are keeping you from more joy and expansion and connection in your life.

I know it can feel overwhelming choosing a therapist. You're struggling to be understood already....you don't know who to trust or even what the difference might be from one to another. I've been where you are, thumbing through thumbnail after thumbnail of therapist photos....where do you start? Who do you trust? I decided when I got into this business to focus on the relationship, not the strategy. Every client has different needs and each deserves a therapist who understands them and their unique situation.

My name is Debra and I have been practicing psychotherapy and dreamwork for over 18 years. My practice has shifted primarily to ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, dreamwork, and the integration of alternative states of awareness through various arts-based, nature-based, and applied shamanic practices. We take a holistic approach to mental health, recognizing that physical, emotional, and spiritual health are interconnected. We believe in the transformative power of nature (both inner and outer) to guide healing and growth, bridging modern psychology with ancient spiritual practices.

Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, CPTSD or other traumas, I can help free you from old blockages and help to restore your original, true nature.

My work is informed by evidenced based therapies, including mindfulness based compassion therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.
If you are ready to learn more about yourself and develop a positive path toward growth seeking assistance can help you refocus on what's most meaningful to you. People come to therapy for many reasons, including needing help in handling stressful life transitions, to reduce psychological distress, increase one's self worth and to develop a better understanding of themselves. During therapy, we will explore unhealthy patterns by looking at the interplay between your thoughts, behaviors and emotions and how they affect your daily experiences. You will learn to develop fulfilling relationships, ways to cope in healthier ways, and ultimately live a fulfilling life.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
